I found this whole quiz to be very confusing

I am salaried, I don't get overtime. but even if I worked 24 hours a day I would still be making more than minimum wage. I imagine most salaried workers are in the same situation so that argument would be some elitist bullshit.

Keep track of all of these hours. When you leave, go to the labor board/commission/whatever. Get any backup you can. There are no fees, no lawyers, and you should be able to get at least some of your time paid.

Why does Cracker Barrel put an orange slice on their scrambled eggs? I've never understood it and it seems like a waste of energy and food.

Don't hate the server. Please. I make a point of thanking the BOH every night. When I have to add ridiculous fucking modifiers that I know I can't lie to the patrons about not being able to do, I run into the kitchen immediately to apologize. When I know the kitchen will be pissed at me for a certain modifier, and I'm

I'm moving from a more upscale place to a mom and pop sushi bar that I worked at 7 years ago. I'll be making less money, but at least the managers/owners are humane. Like I constantly tell friends and family not to come in to the restaurant I currently work at because at least once a week, a server or cook is forced

1) Waiters make bank. I know this because I once met a guy who was a waiter who made over 50k and only declared 30k on his taxes.

"Would force you to work under someone else's name if you were close to 40 hrs"

My church teaches that the only valid marriage is between one ketchup and one mustard.

"particularly in a country founded in part on the principles of taking advantage of others' hard work for little or no wages"

Well these comments are sure to be fun *elbows on knees, chin resting on fists*

If by "differently" you mean contemptible and disgusting. . .

Thanks for this. A little off topic but... it's interesting to note how women with different EDs are depicted on the screen. Anorexics are vulnerable and beautiful and still the ingenue, yet a compulsive over eater/binger will be shown quite differently.

I just saw the thing about eating clay and was like “oh fuuuuuuck, now a bunch of girls are gonna start eating dirt”

Totally get where you’re coming from. The whole idea of “thinsperation” is a sad part of EDs, and seeing someone beautiful and skinny talking about an ED may give someone a twisted version of acceptance of the illness. It’s a tough line to walk.

If not eating disorders, I suspect that many, if not most, of the young female celebrities at least have disordered eating habits.

When its specific to EDs, though, I’m always a little fearful of it, truth be told. Because EDs are a funny thing - many will see this as inspirational. It doesn’t mean I think people should be silenced in any way shape or form, of course. I just always worry about when a thin, beautiful woman is open about her ED

Yes, but it is also self-selecting. As in, if you are genetically blessed with a high metabolism/are naturally thin, you might gravitate more towards that line of work? I’m sure both are true, I’m not sure there’s ever going to be a way to quantify it, either way.

I am always glad to see people with a public platform talk about their struggles with mental health issues. Anorexia and bulimia are more visible than others, but any kind of discussion that pinpoints mental health and social acceptance of mental health issues is very appreciated in my book. Glad to have you, Zoe.

Just finished season one of The Red Road.
