Given the complete CGI, it’s a pretty thankless role.  They are lucky he agreed.

At the time there was debate about how old they wanted Mr. Fantastic to be. It looks like they settled on older, but there was a good chance when Krasinski played him that they were going to cast someone in their mid-20s.

Generally it’s only an issue if you have a PC the is close to the lower spec of the game. I have an incredibly beefy PC for work and I have never had an issue with an XBox game ported to the PC. The reality is all developers play their game a majority of time on the PC (it’s just faster work->playthrough cycle) - even

I feel like a vast majority of Playstation games come out to PC around a year after release. I don’t see a huge problem with have a one year exclusivity for XBox games and them selling them on the Playstation.

A vast majority of the US still does not have the broadband connection for good streaming games. That’s not going to change for another 10-20 years.

It’s really a huge amount of speculation, but I could see a scenario where Microsoft just makes a reference machine spec every two years going forward and supports XBox game pass on that. If someone wants to make it as a PC form factor, a handheld form factor, a console form factor, Microsoft doesn’t care: so long as

It looks like they took the absolute easiest way out. To include the icon and readable text (which they should have done) would have involved the extra few days of work laying out a new UI, instead they just replaced the image files. Even the updates are shoddy.

Yeah, it is really hard. In my opinion, we are collectively getting ourselves in a lot of trouble by growing way too dependent on Unreal as an industry.  I know there are a lot of advantages, but there are also some really scary disadvantages.

This happens all the time to projects that are two years into development. Six? That’s a little unusual. But if anyone would do it, it would be Blizzard (and I mean that as a compliment, not an insult).

I heard through the grapevine that a lot of people were leaving already and they all knew the project was probably going to be shutdown. I once came on board a three plus year project that had gone nowhere at Amazon Games and you can just feel it when something is doomed.

Was there information about who was let go? Was is internal development teams or support people? Although it is rough for people let go, there is a solid argument that when you pull one huge company into another huge company, there is a lot of redundancies in marketing, testing, publishing, server management, etc...

I’m sure their PR people are kicking themselves right now given how generous Riot’s severance was. I can tell you, people in the industry noticed. Not a great look when they inevitably start hiring again.

It looks like a different render than what we saw in the direct.  Was this captured from a PC and the other from an Xbox?  The lighting seems different.  This looks better.

I’ve been grayed.  Boo.

I have to think if the game is on Gamepass that Microsoft’s lawyers took a look and gave it the all clear.

I’d love to read some interviews of people that conned some idiots out of money by throwing up some jpegs onto the gamestop marketplace.

Game developer here. This is no big deal at all, we use TTS as placeholder all the time. Having even bad TTS voice placeholder helps development of a game so much you wouldn’t believe it (and TTS placeholder is now getting really good). Well developed tool pipelines have ways of flagging this stuff so it doesn’t get

I just can’t believe that they didn’t take $20 million and hire out some eastern European team to make a decent space game for them.  Easy to do, and would have fixed so many of the complaints!

As a professional game developer for a several big game companies, all I can say is this is great news, and I am super happy for the community!

Echo is the last show that was under the umbrella of MCU can do no wrong and Disney+ will spend anything for content.  Moving forward, the quality bar for greenlighting projects is going to be much higher.
