Just noticed that they have started turning off comments on a lot of the sites here. Don’t know when it’s going to hit Gizmodo, but so long and thanks for all the fish!

Totally agree. There are a lot of people whose schtick I’m getting sick of: Kate McKinnon and Will Ferrell are two people that play no one but themselves at this point.
Exactly the same problem that Whedon warned them very publicly about after Avengers 2. The upper management of the MCU demanded they cram far too much into the movie to support future projects. You would think they would have learned instead of doing it even more.
I have to think if the game is on Gamepass that Microsoft’s lawyers took a look and gave it the all clear.
Kenobi, or, Baby Leia Adventures, as I like to call it, was not outstanding.
That’s actually a Children of Ruin reference, but yes, I was talking about Children of Time!
“We’re going on an adventure!”
I was just thinking, “This will be good practice for the special effects house when the REAL space spider movie comes out next year”
I’d love to read some interviews of people that conned some idiots out of money by throwing up some jpegs onto the gamestop marketplace.
Game developer here. This is no big deal at all, we use TTS as placeholder all the time. Having even bad TTS voice placeholder helps development of a game so much you wouldn’t believe it (and TTS placeholder is now getting really good). Well developed tool pipelines have ways of flagging this stuff so it doesn’t get…
As excited as I am about us going back to the Moon and Mars, my understanding is the Artemis rocket is already a dinosaur compared to modern SpaceX and Blue Origin designs. We really need to buy a one time perpetual use license (in exchange for some long-term launch discount) from both companies, rebuild our core…
I actually strongly disagree. I think you could pretty easily film Foundation as long as you were willing to change your main set of actors every other season. You could pretty easily merge “Prelude to Foundation” and “Foundation” and “Foundation and Empire” into a story that is telling the story of the Foundation…
From the clips it looks like all of the first book (there are definitely some clips from the very end of the book). Which makes me assume that they will do a season a book (so three seasons). But there is a lot in book two and three, and some logical splits, so I could potentially see them splitting those books into…
GRRM gave them a complete outline, basically the entire series sans the dialogue. They had the full series. If the books end up being different it will be a reaction to the show. I hated the ending too, but that was GRRM’s vision.
No one can desecrate a series as much as they murdered Foundation, so at least you have that.
It is going to be incredibly interesting to watch this compared to the Chinese version you can watch on PBS.
Do you mean the headset?
As I was saying elsewhere, I would love to see what happens if The Dark Forest hypothesis enters the cultural mainstream. It is a terrible solution to the Fermi paradox, and a fairly believable once.
I can’t even imagine how much money Netflix was willing to spend on this given the timing of when production started (in terms of Netflix stock valuation) the the hype around the showrunners.
In some ways I enjoyed the second one more. The Dark Forest premise is terrifying, and I love the idea of it entering the cultural mainstream.
