I remember them trying to hire me a few years ago. Lots and lots of alarms went off after talking to them. I am not surprised that they are failing. They were making all the classic mistakes that a big company getting into the industry makes. I’d love to see responses with people suggesting how they think you…
Dune is coming out on HBOMax and theaters at the same time. The post is incorrect.
Difficult game to make. If you don’t use the voices and likenesses from the movies you get dinged, and paying for those are prohibitively expensive. Sometimes a game is just not a good idea.
Allowing anyone involved with True Blood is the GIANT RED FLAG in my opinion.
This is factually untrue. HBO said they would be happy to give them more seasons. The show was HBO’s tentpole - money wasn’t the issue.
I watched about 3 minutes.
What’s going to be hilarious is when they release a game and we find out they bought it from some small Polish developer for 50k.
I have to admit, I’m pretty surprised a western company was allowed to make this game. I remember about ten years ago, when I worked for a big publisher, that we pitched three concepts, one was an open world Native American game. Boy was that shut down fast!
The cost and time required to make the first hour of a game is easily x10 the cost of subsequent hours. If game costs were linear, he’d have a point, but it isn’t.
I think they are incredibly cheap to make, so I can see why netflix and other streaming network will take just about anyone that can fill an auditorium.
Did they ever finish the meta-story of assassin’s creed? Is there a <5 page synopsis? or <5 min youtube video?
You guys have no idea what Hope Hicks’ job is. To put it diplomatically, it is in no way public facing.
I don’t think you understand just how much money they each made. This is a retired team’s hobby project.
All you need is one stupid jurist. And if you’ve been to Jury duty lately, you know that the new MO is for the defense to throw out all the smart people they can find.
Season 2 was unnecessarily convoluted for its own sake. I’ll give Season 3 a try assuming they backpedal from how overboard they went last year, but the show is on the “maybe jettison” pile.
They should cancel this. And I suspect that in the end they will be forced to cancel it. Two important facts:
It’s definitely doable on mobile today. I’m not sure how well it will play on a phone (screen space issues), but on a tablet, it should be excellent.
They are all already rich. The whole team is under 10 people. They are all millionaires now. This is a hobby project for them.
