I really disagree. Compared to Foundation I think the books are very filmable. Two 10 episode seasons for each book.  Plenty of breathing room and a six year production.

Or, you know, just not have humans control fighter planes anymore. My guess is in the future the humans are aboard a command plane (something like an AWACS plane) that stays fairly close to the combat area and it just launches a bunch of drones that can easily take care of anything other then other drones. Humans

I still laugh every time the guy in the pole show up. The absolutely beautiful absurdity of it all just warms my heart. Probably the best movie I’ve seen in 20 years. And probably the greatest cinematic experience I have ever seen.

They literally said when season two got approved that they whole thing would be five seasons.  This isn’t news at all.

I watched about 3 minutes.

This is a very weird legal situation. Obviously Apple has to charge something for people using their store. So what is the final outcome of this lawsuit? The court is going to set the % an online store can charge? Laws don’t usually work that way, either it’s legal or not legal, and if the court decides it’s not legal

WHEN IS THE FINAL EXPANSE NOVEL COMING OUT?!?!?!?!?!?

What’s going to be hilarious is when they release a game and we find out they bought it from some small Polish developer for 50k.

It’s crazy that Ben Stiller would have even gotten an audition. He was an absolute nobody at that point. His earliest entry in IMDB is 1986 as a guest in an episode of Kate and Alley. Back to the Future came out in 1985 so casting was at least a year before that (and he would have been 18 or 19 years old at the time).

I have to admit, I’m pretty surprised a western company was allowed to make this game. I remember about ten years ago, when I worked for a big publisher, that we pitched three concepts, one was an open world Native American game. Boy was that shut down fast!

I think the main issue is that it wasn’t a serial show. It was a time when shows were becoming more serial, DS9's last two seasons were basically serial, the premise was completely set up to be serial, and then they didn’t quite have the guts to do it.

Unironically

An even younger Alex?!? JFC. The show already has a problem with the cast being too young compared to the books. This would be ridiculous.

The cost and time required to make the first hour of a game is easily x10 the cost of subsequent hours. If game costs were linear, he’d have a point, but it isn’t.

I think they are incredibly cheap to make, so I can see why netflix and other streaming network will take just about anyone that can fill an auditorium.

Could we get an “essential list?”  I’m afraid a top ten cuts too much good stuff and continuity.

Fantastic Four did so much damage to Trank’s career, I would honestly take his statement with a huuuuuge grain of salt. I’d like some proof before I believe he was planning on casting a black Sue Storm.

Putting aside the bigger issues of whether Voyager should have been a more serial show, I think with the reset at the end of “Year of Hell” it would have caused a lot of anger if they had reset an entire season. Two episodes is fine, maybe even five or six episodes, but an entire season would have been too much.

It unfortunately got wrapped up in Lost shitting the bed at the end.  The reality was, it had some clunky parts, but it was nowhere near the disaster that Lost was, but unfortunately they were both thrown in the same pile.
