I basically think that, from what I can remember, Melancholia is the only one that does not have someone getting gang raped, raped to death, mutilating her genitals and the genitals of others, graphically hanged, massacring a town, and so on. So it’s the easiest one to take IMO.

I pretty much think that if someone is new to Lars Von Trier, Melancholia is the movie to start with-it’s as powerful as anything he’s done but nowhere near as extreme as his other work. Like I wouldn’t recommend seeing AntiChrist or Nymphomaniac first.
