Harmony's Odyssey looks really quite special. I'm glad it's coming to the Switch!

I feel for the SSB team... with only one slot left, the only thing that’s certain is that it will go to the “wrong” character for a sizeable portion of the audience.
I finished this game over the weekend. It's a really enjoyable 3-4 hours, and I highly recommend it!
Yeah, I understand it’s popular to hate companies for the crime of protecting their intellectual property, but I just can’t find it worth getting worked up over.
I’ve been replaying old Final Fantasy games on my switch, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well this one held up. I think I actually liked it more, revisiting it now than I did in my first playthrough.
Right, it sucks, but there's probably not much that can be done. I remember seeing more than one game that ripped off Darkest Dungeon (which people didn't seem to have a great problem with because yay more Darkest Dungeon?) Guess it speaks to how beloved Supergiant is that this blew up the way it did.
You are incorrect. GamesIndustry.biz is evaluating video games, not real life sports (and even then, I missed the part where you get to tackle others in soccer). They specifically call out FIFA as an example that is non-violent.
It doesn’t pull in FIFA. It’s “contact sports” like WWE or boxing.
I agree. I’ve never played a Metroid game before, but the Dread presentation was so well done, I’m keen to check it out.
I’m relatively happy that Nintendo focused their Direct primarily on games slated to come out this year, and didn’t devote a ton of time to releases slated for 2022 or later.
>I don’t know what led Teigen to so hatefully treat the 16 year-old years ago
I might have a different opinion on Skyward Sword because I’ve played it relatively recently (as one of the 12 people that owned a Wii U, and I only sold that off about three years ago... Never owned a Wii, so that was my first time playing SS). It’s not my favorite Zelda, and the Wii version had some janky controls,…
I’ve never played a Life is Strange game, but I love visual novels and intense story telling, so I’m really stoked to try these out! True Colors looks really beautiful.
Added a ton of games to my to-watch list, and I’m really excited! Not just over the usual suspects, but stuff like finally getting to try Danganronpa.
The original FF characters were four sprites that represented job classes and didn’t talk. There’s no reason that got converted to three dudes. And there’s no reason that even a black belt character would have to be a man that runs around grunting about killing. Tifa was an awesome fighter.
The main guy just looks so ... bland. It’s not helped by the “AH, I’M SO MACHO” voice direction either. The other two seem okay (at least the redhead seems to have some personality; same VA as the guy who did Yuri in FE3H?).
...You know I didn’t make the film right? I even remember there being controversy when it came out about the casting, as the main characters were divided: white actors portrayed the humans and black actors portrayed the aliens.
I know this isn't a unique joke to Kotaku, but am I the only one who thinks the gist of Avatar is easy to remember? Asshole white people want to take resources from an alien planet. The end.
I’ve got my eyes on Dordogne, Amber Isle (shop sim with dinos), Bear & Breakfast (b&b sim), Button City (arcade games), Dreamland Confectionery (crafting/exploration?), Garden Story (LoZ but as a grape?), Witchery Academy (Story of Seasons but as a witch).
Thank you! I’ve read a few reviews but I’ve not felt that “omg excited” feeling. So it’s helpful to have some non-critic perspective.
