My Dad had one of these circa 2007. It was not a happy ownership experience for him, or so he says.

Cool and all. But this car just never made any sense to me. All the gorgeous looks of a Mark 4 Jetta with the anonymity of it too. Paired with an overly complex but not all that powerful engine. For way too much money. I mean, as a technical exercise it’s cool and all. But man, I wouldn’t touch that thing with a 10

If only they had pictures or footage of these things happening, they could easily follow up on it later. Sad, really. Nothing can be done.

Cite/arrest, tow/crush, and move on.

Because cops are more likely to be in the takeover than to stop it? Dirtbags support dirtbag things.

Meanwhile, half of the police departments have purchased themselves APCs...which seem ideal for breaking these up.

Boy, you’d think the cops would love these things. All the damage they could cause and arrests they could make and the public would be on their side for once!

Reminds me of Ned Flanders’ parents:  We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas!

From Wikipedia, 1.35 million through its roughly decade of production.

The PT Cruiser was absolutely a piece of junk. It was based on a stretched Neon chasis and was basically built as a compliance vehicle to improve fleet fuel economy- it was classified as a “light truck”. I did a power window motor on one and the gear mechanism was made up of a plastic gear set. The plastic was so thin

Either that or Snidley Whiplash

Not much to disagree with here.

If only there was a way to permanently silence that loudmouth fuckstain in charge of Tesla...

Gimme Carplay and DTE. All the rest can be analog.

The only things I like in newer cars are Wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, Backup cameras, & the blind spot indicator on the side mirrors. Everything else I found I didn’t really use it or I didn’t want it.

Smart AI-based climate control?

I’m so glad auto up/down is not the norm also.

Yep - I hate auto for that exact reason.  I have the windows cracked way more than full down.

It’s actually 7 menus deep, in the audio settings.

I’m surprised that an automaker hasn’t eliminated the door switched in favor for a touch screen control.
