Local elections matter, and the Right has been very skilled in making local control a goal well before. I just wish that my lefty friends who get all worked up every four years over who occupies the White House - and then stay silent in between - put as much outrage and effort as they do into national politics as they

I’ve stopped identifying as a swim coach because I am tired of getting asked my thoughts on this by my Fox News-watching relatives and other assorted Boomers. My answer is now, “eh, it’s complicated.”

So now my kids will have to walk in the inky blackness of pre-dawn hours to the bus stop because the sun won’t rise until almost 9 am? Delightful.

BJ’s has the closest store to my home and work. I just like to snicker like an adolescent and have an excuse to say “BJ.”

A lot of people became rich through dumb luck.

No.

Local elections matter. I wish my left-leaning friends would spend a fraction of their outrage over who occupies the White House every four years to elect sensible, compassionate public officials in their local city hall or statehouse. The GOP has been quite successful with this strategy and we are seeing the results

I posted something similar before, but when I walk through my local park, I observe at least a dozen parents sitting in their idling SUVs while their kids are attending soccer practice. Now most of those SUVs cost over $50k, so perhaps those parents are indifferent to high gas prices. Can’t be good for the

Not to mention the sales of pickup trucks and lifted Jeeps.

Good grief who is assigning these terribly inaccurate and environmentally irresponsible articles? It seems to be a trend at Lifehacker.

I walked my dog through the local park yesterday and observed plenty of parents sitting in their idling SUVs absorbed in their phones while the kids had soccer practice. So they are not concerned with crazy high gas prices yet?

In the 1980s I was a gullible teenager who would attend baseball card shows. I was using my summer job money to pay hundreds of dollars for trendy rookies and entire sets of cards. Does anyone remember Ron Kittle? Roger Clemens rookie cards were treated like sacks of diamonds among us teens. Each month we eagerly

I’m in a similar position and I love living alone. I don’t have to deal with any complaints about the thermostat/dinner/noise etc. Most importantly, there is no one in the house to blame but myself. Makes me keep a tidy home.

I grew up in a super Catholic household and Ash Wednesday meant the Priest would read my favorite gospel passage that too many religious leaders and politicians ignore:

My friend and his dad each own a Bolt. They love the cars and are lobbying our town to install more charging stations. He said he purchased his Bolt 3 years ago when the deals were very enticing for the car. IIRC, they have already had the batteries replaced.

I use my Waterpik to dislodge food stuck in my molars that can’t be reached with floss. Floss works great removing food and plaque from between teeth, though. I’ve gotten in the habit of flossing twice a day and my dentist is very happy with my teeth.

Daytime sex > nighttime sex. WFH is awesome for that.

I really think my GF likes me most for my acts of service, because as soon as I arrive at her house, I receive a “honey do” list and she exclaims, “thank goodness the functional adult has arrived.” At this point I just keep most of my tools at her house because that’s where they get the most use. I am repaid in, um,

My kid is 18 and in college and he has been nagging me for a car. I’m poor so our budget is $5,000. It’s heartbreaking to see what $5,000 buys us. Can’t find many reliable vehicles newer than 15 years old for that price.

I’d recommend shipping products by rail, but North American railroads have spent the past century eliminating service and ripping up tracks.
