Milkweed is a native and superior substitute to the invasive “butterfly bush” found at garden centers. Butterfly milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) has stunning orange blossoms that attract native bees and butterflies.

In the 1990s I once rode the now-defunct Amtrak Montrealer from NYC to Montreal. The bar car was filled with NY Rangers hockey fans and some English soccer fans. Another way to lessen the growth of invasive species is to stop purchasing flora and fauna that is not native to your region.
