I was reminded of some of my friends who were born and raised behind the Iron Curtain. Even living under it for a relatively short time, their outlook on life is much different than someone who's never lived through that kind of situation. The more I think about this episode, the more impressed I am at how subtly

I don't know if it's still canon, but I believe Lady Rainicorn was originally PB's steed. Even if that's been retconned to more of a commander/subordinate relationship, I'd like to see how those two first met and how their relationship evolved once Lady Rainicorn started dating Jake.

Indeed, I'm just kind of surprised at how viscerally negative a reaction I had to actually being able to understand a character. Much like other things in this episode, it's growing on me the more I think about it.

Awesome. I remember she voiced Breezy and the leaf blacksmith from "Little Brother". I was hoping she'd be a regular member of the voice cast (her singing as Breezy was wonderful), but having her on the writing team is just as good.

This episode felt like it was straight out of Season 6, with it ditching the main cast to focus completely on a side character. Graham Falk as the sole storyboarder probably helps with that, since that's where he really grew into his style. I've been wanting focus episodes for all of the corndogs for a while now

This episode wouldn't have worked without them, but seeing Lady get subtitles just seems wrong somehow. For that matter, seeing her walk is even more off. Rainicorns are creatures that were never meant to ambulate.

I've sensed what you're talking about with Lady and Jake for a while now. If they do go that route, it might be because he had a specific view of the kind of family he wanted (one where he could be a father for more than a day), and it blew past him, leaving him unsure of where he stands with his own children.

True enough, but for the sake of brevity I decided against regaling the fine people with the details of imaginary colors or how the the cave works.

It's interesting if you think of the cruder animation style as representing the grotto gradually erasing their memories (they were forgetting things even before they encountered the purple puffs), and their minds trying to reassemble some logical narrative out of what they could recall. These guest animator episodes

It never ever occurred to me that the water nymphs are always hanging around Finn and Jake's place because they live there.

I'm really enjoying the David Bowie love fest over the past few weeks. Tonight's Labyrinth homage was great, and the character focus episode for Gary last week was fantastic. I could listen to that synth battle all day.

I know I'm feeling the love.

Truth accepted.

I'm sure Peppermint Butler could set it up.

"I can punch my own jerks now." But the more people that punch Ash, the better.

He just refers to all his elves as Gunter.

It's a great time to catch up. Season 7 has been pretty stellar so far, and with SU on the bench for the foreseeable future, it's nice to have AT around to talk about.

Thanks for following up on this, Elizabeth. Given her age, perhaps she was just a fan of the show and the crew dedicated a thematically appropriate episode to her.

There has to be, now that Rigby's gotten all his credits. Can't wait.

Between the GED arc and Rigby and Eileen finally hooking it up, this season has been the true Year of the Rigby. Every episode dealing with either topic has been great, with "Hello China" in serious competition for my favorite episode of the series ("TGI Tuesday" and "Brilliant Century Duck Crisis" are going to be
