Sadie's Predator scar is back! Glad to see "Rising Tides/Crashing Skies" didn't claim that from her.
That's really what sold Steven's performance for me. He recognizes that dressing up and performing a dopey pop song was something he was forcing on Sadie. Him taking her place in the performance is half saving the show, half apology to Sadie for being just like her mom.
It's not world-shaking, paradigm-shattering stuff, but it's still a male character willingly dressing up in women's clothes in public. Well within SU's wheelhouse, but more likely to be treated as an embarrassing joke in another show.
I choose to hear him as Regal from Tales of Symphonia, so him playing a fatherly figure isn't that much of a stretch for me.
Have him team up with a male wizard and you'll have both Maheswaran parents fighting demons.
That's going to come in handy in the near future.
I would place SU firmly in fantasy territory. A lot of the show's setups (boy and girl roll around town in a magic bubble, the ocean is stolen and group must quest to retrieve it) work a lot better as fantasy setups rather than getting bogged down in the minutia of how it works.
Loved the first one. Beatrice was in top form with her Wirt trolling.
Peridot: It wasn't me! It was the Steven! He shot Mayor Dewey!
It's why I'm still holding out hope for a Maheswaran mother/daughter duet.
I want to imagine that all organized crime in Steven Universe is comprised of Warriors-esque themed gangs.
I keep picturing it as an Over The Garden Wall crossover where Steven meets his mom in the Unknown and asks her to go back in his place because of how miserable he thinks the Gems are without her. I apparently enjoy making myself feel bad.
Those Fusionstein designs were straight out of Silent Hill. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn must have felt right at home.
It's the reason she hates "Under the Knife". Poor representation of her workplace.
Considering her voice actress, this is most likely accurate.
Where else would you expect Cedric the Owl to live?
I don't recall that from either Transporter movie I've seen (1 and 2, for the record). The first female transportee spent most of her time locked in the trunk. The second female transportee is the Big Bad's heavy, garnering one of the film's better laughs when she refuses to wear her seatbelt, only to silently…
(In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that I have a friend from college who worked on development for this game. And now, on with the show…)
I dunno, if a 10 year old displayed the ability to make pacts with demonic forces, keep his family imprisoned through fear and threats, and built a giant death robot to attack my town, I would feel comfortable with trying him as an adult.
