I read a profile of Steve Martin where he explained that signing autographs for his fans every time he went out in public became too time consuming, so he resorted to handing out these pre-autographed cards.

He’s playing it as if he was actually on NYPD Blue (to pick a contemporaneous cop show) or some similar drama rather than a sitcom, and it’s perfect.

It would have been all of us in our middle-age. [Hughes’] idea was to pick up with them in their twenties or thirties.”

No idea if this is completely, partially or not at all correct, but seems like he was a really nice guy and seems that he was very well liked by his costars.

Like a second and a half of research...

I mean, I guess it’s generous of you that you’re willing to grant he “probably” wasn’t trying to murder someone?

Where are you getting your information as to what occurred? Nothing listed in these articles or released gives any indication as to misuse of the prop by the actor. In fact it specifies that the discharge was *during* filming which suggests the prop was being used as intended.

Seriously...I’ve had an oeuf.

For 10 or 15 years I’ve been lurking a few choice conservative websites in my daily rotation to keep tabs on what they are up to. In the last 48 hours I’ve seen tons of regulars—who never uttered this phrase before —high-fiving each other over the misery of “alphabet people” and how Dave is owning the libs.

I don’t have an issue with the mimicry. It’s crazy good. And you have to hustle in this business; I get why Costa did it. Make good shit and put it out into the universe, make things happen, etc etc.

Just you.

I think it was directed at the word salad of some of the sentences in the article.

I think Disney saw a reasonable chance that if this got into open court, they might be fucked big time. I’m not surprised they de-escalated from their tonedeaf accusation.

I’m hoping for a return of the cat/nun ladies.

Also, I would argue that most classic-series incarnations of the Doctor were aggressively asexual, even if they didn’t say it out loud.

Not as good as a 1 film version.

Dirty Work is underappreciated imho.

Looks like a lot of fun. I appreciate that all of the Marvel Disney+ shows have their own tone and style, and it’ll be interesting to see if this seemingly lower stakes show works. (I’d never say I was a big fan of Hawkeye as a character, but I’ve always enjoyed Renner’s portrayal.)

Can’t wait for THE IVERMECTINS to show up on the AV Club’s list of shitty bands.
