Thank you - maybe I’m just slow, but I puzzled over that for several minutes.

I was going to reply the same thing - his acting in the last few minutes of Ordinary People, basically from the golf game to the last line, is amazing. And of course, Mary Tyler Moore’s performance was just as heartbreaking in a different way.

Another Dreyfus begs to differ:

It may be stop motion, but I got the same impression when I saw the sand worm - it looked like crappy CGI for some reason. The rest looked (mostly) fine to me.

He and Tina Fey did the same kind of intervention with Lindsay Lohan several years back. So... inconsistent results, but I still give them credit for trying.

I still laugh at Phil’s ad-lib “Fuck it, it’s dress” when he breaks during the dress rehearsal for that Christina Applegate/Cher hair product infomercial.

I was just going to post the same sentence. You don’t even have to be a proofreader, I’m pretty sure most off-the-shelf word processors would flag it multiple times.

Hmm, assuming those numbers are right, that seems... curious. You would think it would at least be a semi-popular interview, even if people are just hate-reading it.

Call me suspicious, but it makes me wonder if Musk’s statement thatIf you look at how many times hate content was viewed on our platform, it is down

I’m laughing at that 60-year-old dad joke way more than I should be.

Have we forgotten about this sequel starring Jake Busey and the dick-ish lead singer of The Wonders?

Not to be confused with Chet from Emergency!

Yes, also a terrific scene - but I get irritated now when I see it because in syndication they switched the background song playing from “What’ll I do?” by Irving Berlin (which fit the scene perfectly) and replaced it with generic elevator music.

Earlier in the episode it also has one of my favorite exchanges, when Sam

Yes, this. I just think of Diane repeating “I’ll be back in six months!” with a bemused, why-dont-you-believe-me look on her face - while Sam’s expression is one of resigned sadness because he knows the truth. Great scene.

I think the main concern is that there are already a lot of people saying “they’re both too old and terrible choices, so I’m not going to vote” or “I’ll vote for a write-in candidate” - and then we end up with 2016 again thanks to electoral college math. So the knee-jerk reaction for a lot of Dems is to avoid all

This makes it especially odd then that Cleese and Idle toured together just a few years ago. They made it clear it was strictly for financial reasons, as Cleese was on his 19th divorce and Idle was broke as well, but still...
