The only problem I need to know about Halo: Infinite is that its release broke the Xbox achievement service on the whole platform for over 12 hours and thus ruined my 2021 New Year’s Resolution to earn at least 1 achievement every day.

Oh god. Sidewinder. The source of one of my greatest memories ever in college gaming. We had a 4 hour game CTF game on that map....3 hours spent at 2-2 and I was stuck hiding in a ladder while the team struggled to fight their way into the enemy base to kill who was holding our flag. The enemy team was doing the same.
Cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool cool no doubt no doubt.
Well, the fact that this piece includes seven people, rather than 200, might tip you off to the fact that it’s not meant to be comprehensive. As to why Steve Martin was not one of the seven chosen for this taxonomy: Mainly, because he hasn’t done *that* much drama. I’d categorize him alongside Bill Murray and Robin…
They’re really living down to the “lol journalists suck at video games” stereotype.
I literally opened this list expecting its omission. I even have some issues with Dread as compared to other Metroids and ‘vanias (the over-reliance on melee counter in boss fights, lack of distinctive “set piece” areas, labyrinthine map design) and it’s still my front-runner for GOTY. The more you learn it the better…
“Mark out, Ben and Chris in” has to be one of the greatest re-tools in history
Parks and Rec ultimately made very little impression on me
“Metroid Dread developer Mercury Steam”
Don’t take me as an apologist for this, but that has nothing to do with Nintendo, but with MercurySteam.
Why is A.A. Dowd so down on her appearance?
Knives Out was so terrible. Ironically, De Armas, completely miscast, elevated the film.
this article has got me intrigued by her cameo in this, but Knives Out was shit.
“And judging from its rapturous reception at an early Comic Con screening, plenty of adult fans will be beside themselves with glee, too.” In other words, the AV Club being the AV Club. This movie might not be a scratch on the original film’s ass (or the underappreciated sequel, for that matter), but I must say that…
Oh dear, you’ve deeply misunderstood. My point was, I’ll take a good plot over whatever the hell 2016 Ghostbusters was trying to do. I know they were trying to be funny throughout that film, but most ‘jokes’ completely failed to land. Of course I’d prefer to have the humor of the original, but if the choice comes…
Seriously, Jesse, what is the point of releasing a movie review five or six weeks before the damn movie comes out? Who is this for? Tell your corporate overlords to get their shit together, this couldn’t be less useful right now.
Older games, I can understand - but encouraging the torrenting/pirating of a game one day after its’ release? For fuck’s sake.
No, no it’s not. It will sell better than the kart racing games, and it may occupy a similar position that Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid currently occupies, but there is no way you can consider a game a “Smash killer” if it is only hyped by the hardcore competitive community. Smash Ultimate didn’t sell 30 million…
Let’s be honest. This is a blatant rip-off, an unapologetic cash-grab, that looks like it was developed in a year with very clunky animations. This is just profiting off nostalgia while stealing from another game.
Even more so from a Texas DA.
