Man it was so nice when I got into the college English classes and suddenly after years of writing fluff for public school teachers, the professors were like, ‘from experience, the assignment should be about this long, but if you need more or less, as long as you fully expound your point, it’s all good’

...thinking you can park anywhere you want as long as your hazards are on, not keeping your distance when someone is parking or pulling out, stopping in intersections, backing up down one-way roads, not using zipper merge...

People in traffic are the worst. Cutting off was mentioned in the article, but also speeding, swerving, not using turn signals, illegal uturns, hard breaking (because of the above, not because of emergency), road rage/”retaliating” against other drivers, etc.

It’s worth noting if you are the lead (doing CPR/first aid) give specific people jobs; ‘you in the blue shirt, call 911' ‘you in the red shirt, find an AED’

It’s been a while since I dove into the ROM world cause Oxygen OS is pretty polished, but my 3T+ is aging, I can't update to 9.0 without locking the bootloader (a known issue in the OP community). Might be time to get back to lineageOS; though I haven't used it since it was still CyanogenMod.

I don’t get the people that get hung up on EV range; who drives enough on a regular basis for it to be an issue? If you do, you’re a niche market.

Oh, getting old. It’s pretty accepted in my friend group that we’ll have drinks ready, but also bring anything else you might want. Caveat, take it with you if you want, no ill feelings, but if it’s in my house the next day, it’s mine.

Not from shelters, but the calico was adopted from a hoarder as a kitten, (going on 3yrs old) and the black one from a sick co-worker of my wife’s; he’s 18.

Fair enough; I still work on my own car, buy mostly just the things I can figure out how to fix myself and therefore not pay a mechanic (which is quite a lot in the YouTube era).

Does that include the group of people that spend money to mod their cars? I never got that, and it’s part of the reason I’m not “a car guy”.

Certain things combined with your home equipment make sense. Paper products/canned & boxed goods don’t go bad if you have the space to store them. Frozen meat has a long life (We’ll get a whole tenderloin, for example, break it down and freeze the portions).

As for “Slim”, this used to drive me nuts when I was younger and slimmer; don’t tell me I’m too skinny, that “I need to eat a hamburger”, etc.

I guess I fall into the intuitive category, but I always try to boil it down to tastes and textures first; sweet, savory, sour, crisp, crunchy, creamy, etc.

Ok, now how can I get Lifehacker videos to stop autoplaying?

I have a high tolerance for spice; I’ve eaten ghost peppers straight. That said, habanero peppers have the best flavor to spice ratio.

Sorry to add vegetables to the conversation, but hot honey on roasted brussel sprouts is my sh**.

Ah, the Midwest. Where a jalapeno is considered "burn your face off".

It’s 2019, so as a man with longer than shoulder length hair, I guess I could wear a scruchie, but I won’t.

A Tbsp is .5oz, so .25c = 4Tbsp #sorrypedantic

I’ve seen, but haven’t tried, pushing chopsticks into the flat freezer bag to make portions.
