Interesting since Aldi and Trader Joe’s are descendents of the same company.

Sure, I have to do stuff the night before, but I don’t even push a button in the morning, and there’s enough coffee for the two of us (for two full, not watered down mugs), ready when we wake up.
But you don’t pay enough for your food. People seem to think restaurants are making a killing on the food, it’s just not true. The price of the food at a competitively priced restaurant only just turns a profit after paying for ingredients, wages, utilities, rent/mortgage, maintenance, etc.
I think you missed my double negative. I always tip, and I always tip 20 percent, even if the service is bad, I just won’t return again.
No, not giving your patronage in the first place makes your statement.
I say it that way because servers, bartender, busser, dishwashers are entitled to tip sharing, but it is illegal to require FoH to tip out BoH. Now if they want to give a cash gift to the kitchen, that’s fine, but it’s different.
I swear some people are shitty to their servers just so that when they mess up, they can justify an insufficient tip.
This, especially if you know there is a wait; then you are literally preventing your server from making money.
Also, any reputable kitchen will go out of their way to fulfill a reasonable request, just be very clear about what you want when you ask, and be understanding if we say we can’t make it happen for whatever reason.
I believe that not leaving a tip is not making a statement for minimum wage reform.
I’m not sure how it varies state to state, but in Maryland, the kitchen staff is not entitled to tips unless they have direct interaction with the customer (counter service, hibachi, etc.).
Closing time is not the last possible minute you can order food, it’s the time you should shoot to be walking put the door. We, of course, understand some leeway is needed, but we have families and lives and sometimes other jobs to go to, too.
wet nails for clippers or scissors, dry for files. source: totally anecdotal experience of 30 years of life (I’ve never had a mani or pedi).
I like to choose the rice based on the flavor profile of the dish. I find brown rice is nice with earthy flavors like mushrooms, wilted greens, hardy squash, braised protein, but for lighter flavors I prefer white, especially aromatic whites like Jasmine and Basmati.
I frequently remember being in familiar places and with familiar people, but when I wake up I realize that I didn’t actually know anyone or where I was. Like, that hallway doesn’t exist in my house in real life, and what was that persons name?
If I could design my city house, I’d like a double door entry, so they could leave a package inside, but not get into the house.
the experiment is hardly conclusive. for one, plain hot water would have been a nice control. also, a shallow bowl doesn’t imitate a pipe. I don’t doubt, however, that baking soda and vinegar won’t break up grease.
as devices become more compact and more powerful, I think difficult repairs are to be expected. not to completely rule out planed failure/obsolescence, but I really think people overplay the ability of manufactures to deliver the latest and greatest phone and make it serviceable by a fifth grader.
I use an old S4 as a smart alarm clock now. The screen is always on, and always charging. I could have always on listening on the home screen, but it hasn’t ever been more convenient to not just pull out my phone.
This can easily be bypassed on marshmallow with root. If I planned to use an old phone, it would probably hook it into my entertainment console, so the speaker isn’t an issue.
