As you said everyone is selfish. Even when it seems like you're putting someone else first, you are still self-serving. Unless you help someone you have never met before and feel terrible about helping, then you benefit from the interaction. But, who does that; we like to feel warm-and-fuzzy.

If calibrated, the oven air is the right temp when the indicator goes off, but then it rushes out when you open the door. Leave it for a few minutes to warm the metal walls of the oven. Also, invest in a pizza stone and leave it in the oven. It will absorb and help maintain constant temperature.
