I remember this episode of Black Mirror. Spoiler alert; it does not end well.

Absolutely this would happen. First thing I thought of.

Yep, the showrunner can claim this is his decision all he wants, but, coming the week after they announced the show wasn’t in the top-10 streamed shows of the year on Netflix, I don’t believe him for a second. It cost nine figures to do, right? No way this was all on him.

When you record these, set the focus on your face, not the background.

Yeah, basically this. CW network still has rights to air shows as re-runs every so often within the year, streaming only allows the last 5 episodes, and then at the end of the year they all unlock. It’s a carryover from the old system.

This makes some sense, because Universal Studios is where the Harry Potter theme park is. So I assume the film rights are part of a larger overall deal tied to the amusement park licensing.

Wolf?

Nothing in the article linked says anything about Friends. I’d assume the writer of this piece just made it up.

No one expected a GMG article to have a correct, fact-checked headline, did they?

No it doesn’t. It aired Friends when it had a distribution deal with rights for first broadcast only. After that the rights went back to the owner, the company that actually made the show.

It should always be noted that Ken’s match against Watson was fundamentally unfair.

Theory: it’s non-trivial to come up with a brand-universal, cohesive design that still makes sense once the thing is parked and sections motor up, pop out, and expand.

Your idea sounds a little bit like “Timecode”:

Exactly! I can’t believe the article didn’t include this. It’s obviously a PIA for the flight attendants to have to remember who isn’t paying for the free meals, the free booze, etc. that could rack up if someone was in that seat. Considering how many seats are sometimes sold at a bare minimum of profit margin, the

I think in the Watchmen universe, a bunch of products were made with Manhattan-like powers. I think some of Veidt’s business was selling stuff made out of new tech that came from studying Dr Manhattan. So that could just be a levitating magnet toy from Veidt industries.

In my experience, an existing account needs to have a cell phone number associated to it eventually. It might let you continue to log in for a few weeks, or, from only one computer, but, eventually you’ll hit a stop where after you enter your password you’ll get a screen that demands you enter a cell phone number for

I have a Google Voice number and it forwards to my cell phone.

Any hints how to set up a second account if you’ve already used your cell phone number for your primary?

That was excellent. We should do that once a week.

It’s Michigan J, not Milton J ;)
