It’s socially acceptable to start drinking at 10am if there’s a game on.

Kickoff for the first games in the West is @ 10AM. Born and raised in California and now live on the east coast. 10AM games are the best followed by 6PM MNF games. Staying up for 10:05 first pitch Dodger games sucks.

If only the lobbyists’ handwritten notes in the margins of the bill had been more legible.....

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that if before conference play starts a team has a 71% chance to have the best conference record in a 10-team league, they’re also going to be a rather strong favorite in the conference tournament. But thanks for the pedantry.

All those great links and not one mention of this great and long forgotten bit from The Critic?

We pulled an intentional strikeout to get around the darkness rules in little league. The rule was, if the game got called on account of darkness, then you reverted to the last complete inning to determine the winner. So, in the bottom of the 5th, we had taken a five run lead, coming back from 1 run down. If the game

Intentional strikeout question. What about this scenario? Your team is comfortably ahead, it starts to rain hard and it’s only going to get worse. You want to get to an official complete game before the game is cancelled for weather.

This whole mess has done one thing for McDermott.

Teams I would want to see, playing on a US-friendly television schedule? I’m already making the popcorn for this. To choke on when I rage scream at Altidore napping on defense and when Wondo comes in. But I’ll watch.

Two Worlds, One Cup.

No. We organize a bunch of friendlies to 1) make money and 2) look at new players against decent competition.

Given that a million people here have made the NIT joke, and that we are about to enter college football bowl season (complete with determining which 5-win, sub-.500 teams get to qualify based on graduation rates) I think making fun of this as either a soccer thing or a European thing is absurd.

They didn’t overpay Tyrod though. If anything, they paid well below market. And they don’t have a good defense or an offensive structure that allows a mediocre QB to succeed.

I’m sure the defense, up 44 and using backups, was really pressing at that point.

Yes, I’m sure that Steph Curry, the highest paid player in the NBA, multiple time MVP, multiple time world champion, #1 selling NBA jersey, is totally writing a piece in the player’s tribune in order to “build his brand”. He couldn’t possibly maybe give the slightest shit about treatment of veterans, it must all be a

Yeah, why should conservative right wingers be the only ones.

He won my heart!!! (Put-upon Iggles fan here...just happy for the few times a player has made me smile over the years.)

Except it’s more like:
NFL players exercising their freedom of speech by kneeling- Conservative America: FUCK ALL THESE PIECES OF SHIT.
Member of said Conservative American public disagrees with how they exercise their freedom- Logical People: Right back at you.

You also can’t really say no government institution isn’t

Every job that I’ve gotten where there is a pay increase resulted in me doing less actual work than the last. I never worked as hard in my life as I did when I was making $6/hr.

Ikea. It’s Ikea. This is gonna be the shortest podcast ever.
