I think you're right about Davis' scenes. He's not as annoying to me as he used to be, but a lot of his scenes suffer because the musicians aren't always comfortable with scripted lines.

Yes indeed. But learn from my mistake: the docents at the National Cathedral don't appreciate it when you ask them about The West Wing. They were actually OK with the Bartlet swearing at God thing; it was the unscripted (according to them) cigarette-stomping at the transept crossing that really put them off.

I think the Ray Johnson bit was the Rake Joke of its time. It just went on and on despite other people's attempts to cut it short. What little humor it had (for me, anyway) came from the reactions of the people to whom he was speaking.
