Range and some method of battery swapping will be key. Trucks and trailers can't earn their keep when they're plugged into a charging station.
Three lug studs per wheel. Apparently, Renault engineers never heard of a "safety factor." I wonder if they've learned anything since the Renault 5?
One of my favorite designs. I always marvel at how Pontiac was able to take the same, basic body as other GM divisions and create something truly special.
Had a similar experience with the spindle nut on my '05 Accord. They're not just rusty, they're notched into the groove in the halfshaft as a locking mechanism. It works.
In 1994, I bought a Corvette that stickered for $39K for around $30K. I believe today's Corvette transaction prices are far closer to MSRP.
$150 per axle? When was the last time you had your brakes replaced? 1972?
This one. Best sleeper I've ever owned. 3.0V6/6-speed. Nobody expects it to be anywhere near as quick as it is.
Someone put a lot of work into this, and it looks like it was well-done. It's a shame he didn't use his powers for good instead of evil.
Though I applaud Tesla's bravery in launching semi-autonomous driving to such a wide audience, it seems that they could also have included technology to ensure that the driver's eyes remain focused on the road.
It's craptacular.
Someone should educate him on the difference between "cost" and "value." The fact that his shoes cost a lot of money doesn't make them worth a lot of money.
Does it depict a "scenic overlook," or is it a tribute to broken-down VWs parked all over the road at odd angles?
I'm not arguing the reliability issues of the "Northstar System" (how pretentious is that name?), I just don't think it would matter to most buyers. I drive a 2011 Mustang GT with a Chinese-made 6-speed that is probably going to grenade itself soon. Am I rushing out to trade it for a 2010 with a 4.6 and 5-speed? HELL…
For better or for worse, most collectors tend to ignore mechanical issues in favor of horsepower. Cars with difficult-to-tune mechanical fuel injection, multiple carbs, race cams, etc are usually at the top of collectors' lists. Beyond that, there were many chassis modifications that make the '93 Allante ride and…
Despite what the owner claims, the '93 with the Northstar engine was the ultimate Allante, and the only one worth consideration. This would be like buying a 2010 Mustang GT with the 4.6L.
Is there really something so wrong with a shifter that actually stays in the position you select, for both visual and tactile feedback? These new shifters seem like technology for the sake of technology, and add no value to the driving experience.
A friend of mine recently cleaned the interior of her car. I asked her what she did with the potatoes that were growing in the floormats.
No, THIS is why.
