I am grateful to my grandparents for making the huge, scary move here in the early part of last century. I am proud of them for doing so, and making a life for their children, my parents. But not sure what I personally have to be “proud” of- lucky, yes, grateful, yes.

It won’t ever end. You can’t legislate inbred attitudes, inherited racism, the mindset required to be a racist. Make all the laws you want-we already have, in many ways-it won’t matter. There always has been and always will be racism, a fairly high percentage in the US, where the country is so split on everything.
