Ehh, “Luuke” was more of an identifier than a name, as the clone of Luke Skywalker. It’s much easier to type — and read — “Luuke” than “Luke’s clone” or “the clone of Luke” every time you mention the guy...which is a lot during an action sequence like the one in The Last Command.

Here’s another one that we overlook

I think it’s pretty well known that he’s a big fan of the Atari Star Wars game. This 2019 article says he owns (or did, I guess) an actual ‘80s one... https://www.thebeardedtrio.com/2019/01/steven-spielberg-and-missing-force.html

Yes, Pac-Land was, I’m pretty sure, gaming’s first “Street Fighter: The Movie - The Game” situation, where the game was based on a different property that in turn was based on a game. If I were to bet on it, I’d say any avoided royalties are to WB, who owns Hanna-Barbera.

It seems the whole world has forgotten the first movie was known in the U.S. as The Ewok Adventure until, I think, the early-2000s DVD release, when it adopted the European name, Caravan of Courage. If I’m not mistaken, it was released in some European theaters under that name, but I had certainly never heard that

If you’re looking for something that’s very Dynasty Warriors right now — something that’s REALLY GOOD — try John Woo’s Red Cliff (about the battle known in the game as the Battle of Chibi). I’ve never seen a war movie that so well illustrated the art of tactics. It’s actually two movies, and I think there’s a

And the new old stuff keeps on coming...

A few months before Spider-Man PS4 came out, I ran a March Madness-style tournament via my YouTube and Twitter to determine the best Spidey game ever to that point. Unsurprisingly, Spider-Man 2 came out on top back then, but it’s fun to look back at the journey. There was something like 85 games to start with. Here’s

Your phrasing suggests it was Disney who had plans for those characters you listed -- they were all part of Marvel Studios’ plans the whole time. I understand the confusion, but that’s just not how it worked at the time.

You can blame me for this — kind of. I was the Marvel pointman on this project, and the idea of converting Metro City to Days of Future Past — including the poster that featured characters that didn’t make it into UMvC3 from MvC2 — was mine. But I didn’t pick who lived and died and such.

So...while I did not

Disney really didn’t affect much of anything at the time for games. Marvel Studios? Sure. Disney? Nah...

I came to the comments to say the same thing. I actually didn’t play it until the Intellivision collection on PS2, and it stood out as one of the few games that was still actually fun to play at the time.

Luke, it’d be great if you could give John Stratman (graphics) and Kenny Mac (music) the credit here. Mr Sunday Movies ran it, yeah, but those two are different people who did all the work.

I did this poll two days after it came out — so who knows how it’s changed — but at the time it was definitely a majority who liked it...especially if you’re an older fan.

Can’t wait for Pearl Jam!
And a humble request not to overlook Local H when you do this next month. Still an amazing band that doesn’t get nearly enough credit for being so.

I hear that. Guilty of it myself with all of Limited Run’s Star Wars re-releases -- all of which I already own complete in box.

That’s cool. I remember Nintendo Power saying those batteries would last about five years. Not bad! :-)

Oh, cool. I didn’t know that. Still not for me, but I can see how that could attract others.

I’d love one of these (the Mega SG is amazing!), but I can’t overstate how happy I am with the AVS — at way less than half the price. Is 1080p vs. 720p for NES sprites worth an extra $314? I just can’t justify it...

Do you happen to remember where you’ve read that? I see people say “they’ve heard” it was supposed to be Shazam a lot, but I suspect it’s mostly based on assumptions. This game is so far removed from having Superman things in it (it’s literally only Superman and the villain from Superman vs. Muhammad Ali — who’s been
