What’s big oil’s responsibility here? Big push towards EVs, states (and countries) banning ICE vehicles within the next 5-10 years... demonizing an industry for pricing while simultaneously pushing their obsolescence is asinine.   

Counterpoint, my wife’s Abarth is at 120k miles and has been excellent.  Although it does like to blow headlight bulbs every 6 months.

Bury it in the yard as a bunker/man cave.

I just drove my mother’s 2020 hybrid ~ 700 miles and averaged just shy of 46mpg with an average speed of 74mph.

This issue goes beyond 2017... my 2020 had a bad wiring harness that was replaced a couple of weeks after purchase.  Essentially, they said they didn’t make the wiring harness long enough.

Agreed, never regrets however buying an Acura TL Type-S because it had all the gadgets before the gadgets were worked out was a bit premature.

Used to be the manual transmission came in the stripper/entry level model and the higher trim variants were automatic only.

My thinking as well; at $50k you’re into Mustang GT PP1 territory and this needs to stay out of the ‘pony car’ group.

Combine the kid and parent’s contribution, open a separate account at your bank, use as collateral for a signature loan. 

The price is nice for what it is however I wonder why one wouldn’t choose an Elise over the 4C.

Every time I see aftermarket steering wheels and seats (outside of a dedicated track car), I assume there was an accident significant enough to blow the bags.
