There appear to be a lot of details missing from this story, but I think both are true: jokes were made at her expense AND they were friends.

Farrow was on staff at NBC news. They spiked his Weinstein story so he took it to the New Yorker.

Ronan Farrow has position, power, money, fame, and resources... and he still BARELY got the news of a verifiable monster out to the public.  It’s chilling to consider how many Weinsteins are out there who are not being chased by a journalist in a position to catch them.
