“I am not as comfortable with this one as the last one.”

This is my second comment but I’m so thunderstruck by this that I am flustered. I wanted to say that I have read this book, and one of the points in it is that her white fling ends up having struggles just like she does. So the message is really not “all white people are doing great.” I feel like some of these people

I can’t even process what that spoiled brat said. It’s a diversity thing, but pointing out that white people have it easier overall is bad?

I mean I’m sorry to inform you but I live among Trump voters and most of them are indeed incredibly stupid. They parrot everything that they see on One America and Turning Point USA’s facebook feed and they are truly dumb as fuck with no ability to properly process information. The majority of them are not some

They’re not dumb. They’re doing the “whataboutism” dance. They’re using the patented anti-intellectual argument that relies on a majority group claiming they’re being attacked so they can claim martyrdom.

These are Boomers’ grandkids, but yes, you are correct.

These idiot disruptive students are telling her her own lived experiences are wrong. That’s white privilege right there.

“What makes you believe that it’s okay to come to a college campus, like this, when we are supposed to be promoting diversity on this campus, which is what we’re taught.”

Ugh. Shit like this is why I roll my eyes when people say things like “I can’t wait for the Boomer generation to die out so we don’t have to deal with this kind of nonsense anymore.” Um, their kids are JUST LIKE THEM, if not worse.

I’m a male in my 40's, very, very white, spent 20 years, working in a wealthy, largely white community while growing up and still living in a neighboring community that is mixed race and not nearly as wealthy and currently work a job where I still deal with people from all over the economic map. Sounds like this book

hilbillies gonna hillbilly.........

Damn this hit a bit home, the majority of my coworkers are white. Lately they have been joking about their white privilege. For example “oh I have WHITE PRIVILEGE, so I have a car.”

Let’s see. If she was a white author who wrote a book making a lot generalizations about the majority of POC, how many of her books would’ve been burned, then?

Good. That’s what’s supposed to happen in cases like this.

Being kind in general is a good thing! But certain people are awful and have done nothing to deserve kindness. GWB is one of those people.

oh thank god somebody said it. gwb wasn’t bad, he just oopsie-doopsied the country backwards into a pointless war that killed untold numbers of innocent people and eroded all kinds of civil liberties for our citizens. the road to hell isn’t paved with anything, so we can just give him a sticker for trying his best and

However, while I don’t think it means everything, I do think intent matters. Every decision GWB made, he (wrongly) believed he was making the tough choices to make America safer in a time when Americans felt very unsafe.

There’s a difference between someone you disagree with and someone whose actions directly caused a LOT of death and destruction, regardless of his intentions. And we know enough now (and let’s be honest, this was not exactly hidden in 2003) to know that Iraq’s WMDs never existed. This wasn’t a misguided effort to keep

I don’t expect Ellen to give a shit about war crimes because...Well, she’s Ellen. But the fact that the Bush campaign specifically pushed state votes on banning gay marriage in the 2004 election as a way to turn out the Republican vote, MAYBE? It’s good to see that being rich and successful is the greatest tie that

I believe that the Bush rehabilitation tour is only teaching the Republican party that all they have to do is install someone worse than the last guy. I’ve heard people who call themselves liberal who say with a straight face that they miss that chucklefuck, and when called out, say “well, he’s better than Trump!”
