I get what he’s saying, and even agree with him to an extent, but, like, who cares? I simply don’t bother with films that don’t appeal to me. I’m not out there saying all films should be what I want them to be.

It’s not entirely wrong but I’d much rather watch most Marvel movies than slog through The Godfather yet again. The Godfather is a great film that I’ve seen a number of times but Marvel movies are simply more entertaining.
My headcanon is that she kept accidentally hunting people named “Luther Face” for decades until she realized that being chased with a chainsaw all night in the 70s really fucked up her hearing.
Sally, who’s been hunting Leatherface her whole life
When the first promotional still dropped, and the cast looked like they wandered off the set for an Iphone ad, I instantly knew this was going to suck.
That scene is really kind of a one-off, and even then, the context is a little more serious, despite the shtickiness of “I can see!” — the trailer is really just trying to extract a “fun” scene from a movie that’s a little more low-key than what they’re selling.
Oh, man, I’m so sorry to hear that. Sounds like she was really luck to have you—besides the general caretaking, the willingness to watch Air Bud-related movies... that is real love.
I lost my mom to what was probably Alzheimer’s last May, and I was her primary caretaker. Towards the end she couldn’t walk so well but was too proud to use her cane or her walker, and there wasn’t much to go out and do because of Covid. The one thing that she did like to do was watch movies, and every time I asked…
I have to say that I’ve known some truly terrible people who have all said things along the lines of “I am who I am” and “it’s part of me that I don’t care” as a response to criticism of their behavior.
I have no doubt that Chase had a miserable childhood. That’s been fairly well established. But dude seriously trots this out every time someone wants to talk about his also well-established pattern of being an unmitigated asshole. Dude, you’re 78 years old and rich and famous. Get yourself some therapy. At this point,…
Bad Luck and Trouble is such a great choice for a possible second season. I can already imagine the first episode’s cold open based on the novel’s opening.
Bad Luck and Trouble was my favorite book, so I’m biased. But I don’t see how they could have the current actor play an investigator that was leading a crackshot team of investigators 10 years ago. He’d be in his late 40s like the books, and this actor is clearly not that old.
I’m a fan of the books and I really enjoyed the tv series. Alan Ritchson is note perfect as Reacher. I hope they adapt Bad Luck & Trouble next, since that has Neagley and a reunion with the rest of the 110th investigators.
Are you like some sort of pop culture beat poet?
Neagley sticks around. From memory she’s one of only two characters who appear in several books.
Well deserved - I get the complaints that the show is cliche. But it was also a blast. Ritchson is great in the lead role and watching him use his frame in action scenes is a lot of fun. The supporting cast was great too (sad that most will likely be dropped given they’re not in other books). And the story was…
No we can 100% know. If central part of my relationship is monogamy then you keep to that. If at such time you realise monogamy isn’t for you, you end the relationship. It’s truly not that difficult. If you’re really twisted up about take a long weekend to a hotel and wank it out. There are so many steps in between “I…
we should also ask ourselves, “If I were in the same position, would I be able to say no to her?”
“Both on- and off-screen, Affleck seemed enormously, depressingly bored by the chore of playing dress-up as a large human bat; even at the time, he occasionally made it clear that he’d taken the part less because he wanted it, but because there was some public understanding that he should want it.”
I think Whedon is getting to much credit here. Like obviously he made it worse, but Ben is clearly stating that he didnt enjoy being a famous superhero because his life was totally falling apart. Totally understandable really.
