The insertion of Indian burial grounds in The Shining wasn’t even in King’s novel. It was only in Kubrick’s adaptation.

I feel the same about modern horror movies using this trick, but only when it’s a false jump scare (e.g. someone taps someone on the shoulder, a friend pops up from offscreen, a cat jumps and yowls at the potential victim). That feels like a cheap and lazy way to get a response out of the viewer (who was most likely…
I like a large amount of Drake’s music, but I’ve never felt “this dude deserves a Grammy” towards him.
I suppose people seeing it person could probably tell if that’s the case by its noise though
I absolutely love how two of the biggest man-whores in comics, Daredevil and Nightcrawler, are both tortured Catholics.
Will do!
Note taken!
It’s interesting how people are acting like everything Gilligan touches turns to gold, considering he also created and wrote a series in 2015 that only lasted one season before getting cancelled that wasn’t Better Call Saul. Anyone here remember Battle Creek?
Yup, same with 10 Cloverfield Lane.
I guess this is what it’s like when all the “you’re the best in the biz!” praises go to someone’s head, eh? The Closer’s a classic? A classic piece of shit, maybe.
Yes to all the questions in your comment.
Ahh, the noted Daphne defense. Any insights on how similar it is with racists and their “I have black friends” defense? Or did you not think that far ahead and just took Chappelle’s word for it?
Anyone else tired of the “tortured detective grappling with his past” trope? Maybe it’s just me, but I’d love a show where two well-adjusted detectives solve a dark, disturbing crime.
They’re right, though. He doesn’t deserve to be in that court. He deserves to be six feet deep under a supermax prison.
This has to be the stupidest mindset someone can have. The “if you don’t like it, then shut up about it" mentality is astounding in how closed-minded it is.
Tell me one "joke" he said in The Closer about transgender people that was funny. Just one.
I mean, I clearly was. Why do Chappelle supporters cling so desperately to the whole "you didn't understand what he was saying" argument when it comes to The Closer. What exactly was he saying that's so obscure?
Chappelle's last special was so weird. The dude devoted more than half of his hour-long comedy special to making half-baked jabs at transgender people and decided to hide behind "I had a trans friend and she said it was okay!"
Yeah, I get it. It just feels icky, but there's technically nothing wrong with it. Oh well.
I like her enough in Euphoria and White Lotus, but it’s kinda weird that not a lot of people are talking about her and her fiancé. They started dating when she was 19 and he was 34. And now they're engaged. I don't know, I'm aware that they were both consenting legal adults by then, but still, eww.
