While I agree that rape and sex are fundamentally different, the whole “rape is always about power and control, and never about sexual desire” thing that has been accepted as a truism really goes too far.

This kind of thinking perpetuates the myth that rape is an act formed from sexual desire, when it actually stems from power and control.
I actually meant tuma’
Because a lot of women do love this movie? And a lot of men mock it, and harsh on the characters in it, for this very reason?
I’m a lawyer. Of course I know the legal definition of stalking.
IT’S NOT FUCKING STALKING IN *ANY* DEFINITION, YOU PSYCHO. Jesus Christ, you people - actually making me defend this goddamn movie.
Jesus Christ. It starts out assuming that all the viewers are men (because women aren’t real people, they’re just “girlfriends”) and gets worse from there. Ugh.
Except that’s not what happens? Stalking is defined as the willful and repeated following, watching and/or harassing of another person. Unlike other crimes, which usually involve one act, stalking is a series of actions that occur over a period of time.
I fucking love this movie and I don't care who knows it. Liam Neeson and his adorable step son are EVERYTHING.
this comment is like the epitome of you must be fun at parties
Kristen Bell:
I watched “Inside Out” on the last flight I took. Cried the whole damn movie, didn’t even care.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
I was 15 and my dad shaved his mustache - he’s had it ever since I was born. I saw that he had shaved it and burst into tears (lol). He let it grow back.
On a commuter train home. I was reading the final book in a series I loved and it seemed as if the beloved main character was dead. I was legit sobbing. Don’t judge me, I get really attached to book characters.
I hate this attitude that talking about money is vulgar. Yeah, it can be if people are bragging or using it to push other people down. If it’s a frank discussion about what everyone is making and where people stand in a company, than we need to have that talk.
That movie was WAY more than “about 10 years ago.”
I bet it was Crash. Everyone in that movie was playing fairly miserable characters. Method Acting + miserable characters can turn ugly off camera pretty fast.
I always thought so, too!
Hey, I watched America’s Next Top Model. I know I need to say, MYSELF!
Girls and boys were inspired to become scientists and engineers by programming (comparatively) boring-ass Commodore 64s and shit back in the 80s. I don’t see why a toy/tool like this wouldn’t inspire at least a few girls and also thank god give nerdy/artsy girls a way to be “cool” with the popular girls.
