All of Hershey’s and American Nestles chocolate tastes average to meh. Honestly, its my last desperation chocolate now.

I had Pink Floyd’s Animals on 8 track. I remember the clunk right in the middle of “Pigs-Three Different Kinds” so much I still hear it when I listen to the song today.

I moved away from the tri-State area in 1988 and recently went back to visit my daughter in Philly. We took a side trip to NYC and I was shocked at the changes over the past 20+ years; I came out of the Astor St. subway and felt like I had walked into an alternative universe--like the dark part of the film “It’s a

Bellinis are the nectar of the gods.

I tend to agree, but I think its not the pour but the beer is brewed differently. I found the same with some of the German beers in Munich; they were much better than what we get in the States. Best example: Lowenbrau.

Milliways actually came to mind first along with “The Prancing Pony” from Fellowship of the Ring.

As a vegetarian/pescatarian who does travel and likes occasional fast food, any offering of this kind is wonderful. We recently did a 5 hour trip in a car to Lake Tahoe with our stranger danger dog and fast food was a necessity for lunch. It was BK and Taco Bell all the way.

From what I’ve heard that paneer sandwich is a vegetarian delight.

Along with Julia Child and my Mom, Jacques Pépin taught me to cook.   Honestly, I can get slightly emotional just watching him make anything.

I looked at that picture of Lori Loughlin and all I could think was damn, Raja and Raven would just BOOT that dress.

Gwen, this is one of the few times we part ways. I worked at a college radio station at the height of this album and the station master was a huge Def Leppard fan. So if he was in the non-on-air studio, this vinyl was on constant repeat.

I am now officially hungry and craving this.  I love panko crusted fish to begin with and this makes my little pescatarian heart swoon.

There is a bakery near our work that has a cake with chocolate ganache filling and is iced with chocolate ganache with a devils food cake base. I have seen grown people push each other aside violently to get at this cake. It’s a sugar buzz waiting to happen but soooooo good.

In Salinas, Ca, there was a small restaurant called Gloria’s on Williams Rd. When the salmon would run, her son would go out fishing and they’d make the freshest fish tacos with the days catch. I have never had fish tacos that were that good ever again. Sadly, the restaurant is now closed, but my memories of those

This is one of my husband’s favorites, along with Abondigas (which is the Mexican version of meatball soup).  I may have to try making them again before the summer heat rolls in.

Corn. Hands down. I worked with a woman from Sinaloa where flautas came from who used to make them with homemade corn tortillas.

When the better half and I were first living together in CA and we were squeezing the copper out of every penny, flour tortillas were a staple, because you could easy incorporate them into a weeks worth of meals and they were cheap. You could use them in burritos one night, quesadillas the next, wrap some deli meat

My love of the Beatles has somewhat faded over time, but I still love to hear “Here Comes the Sun” around this time of the year.

My son’s Brazilian godfather used to make Cuba Libres with cachaça.  It was a great drink for a summer BBQ

Fried egg sandwiches. I was working an absolute shit job one summer at a Sears large appliance warehouse in NJ, working 4 am to noon. On the days when I thought I’d entered some sort of hellish penance for unknown sins at this job, I’d come home and my mom would make me fried egg sandwiches with a side of Taylor ham.
