This film came up in a discussion this week with my son, who is a film fanatic. Genetics run deep because we both dislike this movie. I’ll be frank, I’ve never been a huge fan of rom coms, and most of Billy Crystal’s film. Nora Ephron was a fantastic writer but this film just doesn’t click for me. I agree with some of

All the wonderful minds are leaving us, one by one. As a geeky girl who dreamed of working for NASA and who ended up in computers, but still loving physics—this one feels like a blow to humanity.

After my son saw Trainspotting as a teenager, he suddenly found a large interest in his mother’s record collection. I’m surprised my copies of The Idiot and Lust for Life still have playable grooves.

Rosie is all fine and good, but I really want Robot from Lost in Space. He could double as a housekeeping robot and warn me when I was about to do something stupid by yelling “Danger! Danger!”.

I spent so many hours (and a good deal of paychecks) in the Greenwich Village Tower records. My favorite memories were hearing the staff (who had probably heard Tears far Fears for too many times) rewrite the lyrics to “Everybody wants to rule the world” to “Everybody wants to feed the bears”, having an hour long

He’s made some really incredible music. However, this song is not one of them, I’ll concur.

It seemed understated for Mr. Stevens IMHO.

Barely. I think it was like 150/200 maybe? I always thought that 100 - 200 was created just so Dark Side of the Moon could stay on the Billboard charts for years on end.

My better half gifted me several Bowie re-issues for my birthday, including Stage. I have decided if that I ever was good enough to warrant a tour recording, I’d want Tony Visconti following me with a RCA mobile Unit. Damn, this record sounds like David is right in my living room.

Thank you for reminding me what I was listening to in 2002. I think I drove my husband crazy with the constant repeat listening of that disc in the car.

Most of the early to mid 1960s people I know are more Gen X than boomer. I’ve also had my generation called the “Jones Generation”. I have boomer friends and our outlook and mindset on life is completely different.

This is a movie that is endlessly quoted in my house. “ I have flames on my car. I HAVE FLAMES ON MY CAR!” and “The benefits are terrific. The trick is not to get killed. That’s really the key to the benefit program.” And of course the Jose Greco de Muertos aka flamenco dancers of death!

I have to agree. Mama RuPaul would have been mighty proud of that comment.

Q/A issues are rampant with both Epi and Gibson now. Plus they never really knew how to make a decent bass guitar that really caught on the way Fender basses did—yes Rippers, Thunderbirds and SGs had their fans, but many in the bass playing community saw them as merely low end bastard brothers of the guitar models

I did sound and lights in college for theater, along with god, help us, stage managing for two years. Most memorable moment in being a stage manager was when two of the main actors in Equus were pot heads and they used to roll these fat joints and smoke them until they had to go on stage. Most memorable back stage

This. And its the same reason why Prog rock bands have struggled to get in, no less nominated. Allegedly, Warner hates Prog rock.

Here’s my one upvote for splitting; most portions in American restaurants are huge for many people to manage for a single meal. We revel in oversize meals.

To me, there were just an updated ABBA, even down to the blonde /brunette 2 guys, 2 women set up. This close to Eurovision quality without the kitchiness

1992 was the year I went to Lollapalooza. The line up was phenomenal and pretty much defined the year in music for my husband and me (plus discovering Pavement!). It was also our last year sans kids; kids tend to put an economic damper on concert going for a while..

Frankly, this man is right up there as a saint for me. I spent a good deal of my childhood in and out of hospitals; having Mister Rogers there along the way helped me feel someone out there accepted me just the way I was.
