Cherry Glazzer's "Haxel Princess" is great as well, and worth a listen.

I love Chaka Khan but I now have "I Feel for You" as an earworm, because its the first thing that comes in my head when I hear or read her name. I worked a DJ gig in the mid-80s and let me tell you groups of suburban white girls LOVED that song in the clubs. I think we played it every single gig for a while.

My mind has this incredibly diverse audio library stored in its grey matter for every song I've encountered in my lifetime. All it takes is a random memory or a comment to bring up a song that will stick in my head for the rest of the day or until something else pushes it out. Case in point, husband mentions

I have an uncommon love of "Tesla Girls".

"Just Like Heaven" was one of the songs that always reminds me of the early days of my husband's and my dating days. Its a special favorite.

I've been listening to Gang of Four's "Entertainment!" and "Return the Gift". Its a bit disconcerting how relevant their music is once again. (I also forgot that "Return the Gift" was issued with a dollar bill in the jewel case—which I did find once again when I opened it up to play the CD..)

Earlier this week, the Cure's "Charlotte Sometimes" came up on shuffle during my commute. I had forgotten how wonderful that song is, and how solid the early Cure albums were. I may have to join you in revisiting the Cure.

And soon we'll be watching the 7 pm broadcasts of the kangaroo courts condemning the enemies of the state

I'd love to play this with a few of my husband's co-workers. He's a letter carrier and I"m sure at least one of those folks are a bonafide alien.

I think you mean over "greed". Don't get me started on the pharmaceutical and insurance companies and their lobbyists in DC.

This. I've had too many musician friends who have had to be the beneficiaries of benefit affairs and the Gofundmes of the world. Hell, just anyone who doesn't have enough insurance to cover a catastrophic medical episode is one step from disaster.

Well back to Herr Paul Joseph Goebbels school of being a good minister of propaganda for you, Mister Spicer!

That whole concept makes me incredibly sad

If anyone ever wants to know why I had a goth stage in my late teens and early twenties, I am pointing them to this list and letting them know that due to top 40 radio in my youth, I still know all the words to these songs. I can't remember what I had for lunch last Friday, but goddammit, I still know all the words

Fish tacos > any fish sandwich from a fast food joint.

We have them locally and yes, I was wondering why they didn't make the list as well. It was a staple in my college years along with DQ

And with more talent.

Dear god, he had to use the plinky kids piano motif on this? I'm always interested in how people can redo songs, but 6 bars in, I just couldn't take it anymore and tapped out.

REM in computer programming stands for "REMAINDER" or "REMARK". Yeah, I far too geeky for my own good.

I've been painting our butt ugly 1980s bathroom cabinets and listening to Humanz. I am also trying to plow through 3 weeks of the New Yorker I haven't had time to read, except for the cartoons.
