His daughter lives or used to live in Santa Cruz. Most surreal experience was walking into a sushi place a group of us frequented and seeing him at a table, which happened to a friend of ours. I think I would have passed out myself in a fit of fangirlism.

His names Mephisto, can we keep him?

But you have to admit, his cloak exuded power and manliness.

I starting to believe that I was a part of this really great party and 2016 is when everyone leaves to go home forever, and we're left to clean up the mess :(

I'll save you a nice seat on the bench in the Gulag

Death needs to take a holiday. Now. I always enjoyed Gwen and she had that confidence and demeanor that is so lacking in news reporting in this day and age. Shit.

I always have somewhat mixed feelings about this album. Its a great debut and many of my female friends and I always maintained the more misogynistic lyrics were so over the top they couldn't be taken as anything but tongue in cheek (I mean Ad-Rock would go on to marry Kathleen Hanna, for christsakes). Plus it was a

2016 will go down as the year that sucked like a Hoover. I know there is a certain age where you start losing all the people you love, but this is starting to feel like a slow Rapture of artists leaving earth before it really gets horrific.

This and a friend just texted me that Victor Bailey died..WHAT THE HELL 2016!!

Well, he used to be the commencement speaker for Temple U..

Wait..Logan's Run was a Nostradamus prophecy and I"m not really here?

I tell people stories like—yes, when we were trying to serve him his written reprimand, he tried to light it on fire with his lighter—they look at me like I've lost a few marbles.

My sisters and I watched the Avengers and U.N.C.L.E obsessively when I was a pup. While I will admit to a lifelong crush on Illya, Vaughn always brought a sense of cynicism and worldliness that was fun to watch. I recently went through the entire series via Netflix and it was still so much fun to watch.

Parks and Recreation is particularly funny if you have ever worked for a local government. Its so dead on and its all the stupid, inane things that make most public employees say they are going to write a book when they retire, but publish it as fiction because no one would believe it actually happens.

I found myself listening to Search and Destroy by the Stooges, and alot of political music that I listened to during the 1980s, like PiL's "Rise". I'll probably watch "Enchanted April" sometime this weekend as well—it's a gentle movie about women finding themselves and growing, which I need about now.

Yeah, I could have used a bit more spacing in the time frame between bad news this year.

Damn Can we just run 2016 out of town with some pitchforks and torches?

The hell with beer. I live in CA. I'm just going down to local state store cannabis shop and get me some ingredients for some old fashioned Alice B. Toklas brownies.

I feel so sorry for Meredith. The poor woman actually thinks as a one hit wonder that her opinions have merit. And thanks AV, I know have that shitty song as an earworm. (Heads off to find some Patti Smith to wash the bad pop out my head..)

My introduction to Hefeweisen was in a Ratskeller in Oberammergau, Bayern. My roommate and I were 17 old Americans whose beer palate hadn't seen anything fancier than a Beck's at that point. We got gloriously drunk with a bunch of locals and had a great time. I've loved Hefeweisen beer ever since, esp. the
