Oh, the Portrait Gallery is one I forgot! When I used to work down there I’d take food in and eat in the atrium. It was one of my favorite things. Don’t know if they’ve gotten stricter with an outside food policy since but definitely a fantastic lunch break.

Been living here about 3 years and here’s what I’ll pass along to tourists and newcomers:

I hate to tell you, but DC United played their last game at RFK this fall.

No more RFK, United will be at their new home about a mile from where the Nationals play starting next season.

- Sprinkles is better than Georgetown Cupcakes and doesn’t have the wait.

I live in Alexandria and host tourist-guests all the time. I’ll probably come back to this thread and post a few more times throughout the day. A few starters that come to mind:

Do not try to drive downtown. Good lord, if you are going downtown or anywhere near a Metro station, take the Metro. I had friends who talked about “driving down to the Mall” in all seriousness like it was nbd, and I made the world’s biggest horrified face at them. The Metro has had a lot of bad press lately, but

The Northwest corner of DC, right at the border with MD, has one of the largest Ethiopian communities in the world (outside of Ethiopia). Look for fatastic coffee houses (they invented the stuff) and restaurants along both Georgia Ave and Fenton St in Silver Spring, MD. Many places are within walking distance of the

Hit up Astro Doughnuts for an amazing snack or breakfast depending on how hungry you are.

HE USES VARIATIONS OF THE WORD “ADMIRE” FOUR TIMES IN REFERENCE TO HIMSELF!

I don’t get the PRAISE for this apology that I am seeing here, there and everywhere on social media. CK issued a good apology because he was already outed, after years of gaslighting the public about these “ridiculous!!!!” claims and maybe blacklisting a woman comedian who said they were true? Fuck all that noise.

Nah, man; it’s a breath of fresh air, to hear an admission, but “I’m sorry that I was so famous and popular, and they wanted it” is not much of an apology. It’s the best we’ve seen, still not good enough.

It’s not a humblebrag. You have no idea how gross and annoying it is to be able to tell when someone three seats down on the train hasn’t properly wiped their ass.

I might be a super taster - I don’t like IPAs at all. I do have an excellent sense of smell, too, and it’s sometimes really annoying.

So he didn’t like it? But he didn’t watch it? This definitely makes me wonder about other shows with feminist messages that got canceled. Was it about the actual show itself or the misogynistic studio head not liking the message?

I love how much these people love each other. Timothy Simons and Tony Hale did a video for her last round, too, and it’s adorable.

I’m a fan of Jen Kirkman and a diehard Jezzie. I admire CK’s work but have never been completely comfortable with him as a person, as I’d heard this shit before (which is rare, I usually have no idea what’s up with celebs). So...Confliction, party of 1.
