The fifth game replaced most of the cast with new people, yet gave the new cast a lot of the same styles as the old cast. The returning characters were changed drastically, mostly for the worse, and Sophitia’s kids, specifically her son, were annoying as hell. The story mode was also pretty bad.
Eh, there was a reason the series went into hibernation after Soulcalibur V.
They got rid of a lot of the older cast in V. Sophitia was killed to provide motivation for her kids. It...wasn’t well recieved.
First impression is that it looks exactly how I wanted.
They’re taking down their signs because they want to go back to being racist pedophiles in private.
it’s also a quick way to identify people who are not able or willing to behave professionally.
Did anyone else notice that every quote here, save the one about FFXV, involved trickery and deception and the blurring of lines?
They canned a game and laid off an entire studio because a game was linear. EA has got to be the dumbest company there is.
That canon one is such horseshit. Yeah it’s totally canon for Rey and Vader to fight each other on Hoth
QUOTE | “As we kept reviewing the game, it continued to look like a style of gaming, a much more linear game, that people don’t like as much today as they did five years ago or 10 years ago.” - EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, explaining why the publisher canceled Visceral Games’ Star Wars project and shut the studio down.…
Nobody wants to sympathize with EA, etc., and nobody wants microtransactions. But some of us are more willing to look at the why and come up with suitable alternatives rather than call the very notion “fucked up shit” and end the conversation before it starts.
I keep hearing this argument, and yet the heads of these game companies are raking in utterly absurd bonuses on top of their already ridiculous salaries. Kirk discussed this in the most recent Splitscreen podcast; like him, I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for games if I could be sure the money would go to the actual…
Thank god at least one reader here isn’t a naive waif and actually understands how capitalism functions. The notion that consumers (!!!!!) should be responsible for concerning themselves with EA or Activision’s profits (when as you note both are raking in record sums), let alone start some amorphous “conversation”…
I’m simply never going to clutch pearls about the poor corporations, I’m sorry. Activision just set an earnings record. EA reported a net income of $967M in the most fiscal year; feel free to Google any of this. I don’t know where you’re getting that retail costs haven’t been sufficient to cover production costs,…
This is a myth.
Games are getting more expensive to produce than ever, and fan expectations for the quality of the game experience is higher than ever- and as such, it is becoming a simple business reality that the standard, $60 initial purchase may not be enough to make these massive games profitable.
However, products are (by and large) no longer physical. They’re purely digital. The amount of money that was put into production of physical goods has dropped dramatically. But costs keep going up. Why? Honestly, part of it (and I don’t have the immediate sources) is advertising and lisencing of IP for games.…
Even the ‘more expensive to make’ is yet another fig leaf they put on it.
I mean, he might as well. Denying reality has been working pretty well for him so far. I’m sure he can convince his 35% of Americans that he never said it and it never happened and the video evidence is faked by the same people who did the moon landing.
