It’s especially exhausting because there are legit criticisms of TLJ’s script - like the Poe-Holdo conflict being non-sensical and manufactured for cheap drama - but people still cling to broad strokes shit like this

Bingo, aside from the great idea to have Rey be a nobody (which because of TLJ’s and TFA’s other failures, has now been retconned) it added nothing both new AND good and instead implied the resistance were complicit in lots of bad things, just what people want from their mythic cinema, yes sure.

You say you are happy TLJ broke free of being a retelling, but TLJ itself was basically a remake of ESB, only the Hoth battle was at the end and it had the climax of RotJ jammed in there.

I truly don’t know why your point hasn’t been brought up more. Abrams’ track record is EXTREMELY spotty.

I gave Lindelof plenty of opportunities early in his career and he put me through a torrent of garbage. I’m glad to hear that he seems to be making good shows now. I’m tempted to give The Leftovers a try given the word of mouth. But fans weren’t being unfair to him in the light of the Star Trek reboot movies, Cowboys

I went and looked at JJ Abrams’ credits and it’s a pretty damning list.

So....early reviews have pretty solidly reinforced my expectations.

Yeeeah, I remember “processing” TLJ right after in a coffee shop with a group of friends. “Process and discuss” we said, but really we were trying to find what was good in it. Instead all we found were plot hole, janky storytelling and character problems :/

I think that my desire for a sequel to Dark Alliance is older than the video director of that preview.

Glad I wasn’t the only one. At first I thought they were touting it as a VR game because the low quality graphic and the head bob lol.

Seriously. The first thing I thought while watching it was “Man, when did I get old? I hate this!” Someone should have told the director that when they attach cameras to actors in real life so that we can watch their face as they perform in in action scene, the entire purpose is:

Glad to see this is coming back. Developers dropped the ball with this genre, imho. I worked at Gamestop when these games came out, along with Champions of Norrath. Most all of the women who came into the store, were all big fans of these games. They would constantly ask if there were other games like this. I would

I was a huge fan of the original games but they completely lost me with the FR characters instead of the generic ones from the originals. Pass.

I loved the first Dark Alliance game. I have some really great memories attached to it as well. But uh.... boy does this look very very bad. Obviously it’s too early to tell anything gameplay related, it IS just a trailer, and I learned with Dragon Age 1 that bad trailers do not always equal bad games, but... uh...

It can't be that bad......dude....who made that thing and who tough it was a good idea to release it o_O?

That trailer gave off some serious 2002 vibes holy shit. Like what the actual fuck. That fuckin music.

I will never understand WoTC’s absolute refusal to let characters like Drizzit and Elminster, or settings like the Forgotten Realms, go. They have a literal stable of original, company-owned characters they could use instead of Salvatore’s Gary Stu, but here we are in 2019 still having to deal with the whiny emo

“stuck in mediocre Diamond or below.”

You seem very angry are you ok? Honestly a genuine statement.

I am as big a Superman fanboy as they come, but shouldn’t He-Man and Co’s magic-based powers let them handily thrash Supes? (Though I’d have thought the same about Shazam)
