Loot boxes are your reward for leveling up so either the cosmetic items are heading and we shouldn’t care about them, giving Overwatch the worst reward structure ever, or they’re incredibly motivating and just as bad as these. I see what you’re trying to do but a key difference is the wrapper for the offer. These games employ too many of the psychological triggers meant to entice people to spend either an inordinate amount of time or some money to get the best loot that’s locked behind these randomized boxes.

I’m conflicted. On the one hand, loot boxes like BF2's are a predatory affair. On the other, I also paid full price for Overwatch and it tries to sell me stuff as well.

For me its when my son is awake and I can’t game, but want to watch some games being played.
