I mean, I already feel like having a kid is never going to be a financial reality, so even if I got IVF tech covered by my insurance, I’m still on the hook for all the costs for the following 18+ years. Reproduction is already a luxury good.

Childfree and single people would have more time for hobbies or for caring for their extended families with a shorter work week.

I think those work options and schedules would apply to ALL workers, not just parents. Companies who do have 4-hour workweeks as a matter of policy don’t discriminate. The issue is that we have not revisited the standard work day and work week since the time of Henry Ford, and the way we work has changed…
