That’s what killed Overwatch for me. Just buffs and nerfs patch after patch for the characters that seemed to need them the least. Mercy wasn’t even fun to play anymore a few years in.

I remember the great times I had with The Bee shield and the Conference Call shotgun in BL2 before they nerfed it (although if you’ve got the disc version, you can still do it in the base, unpatched game. Being able to absolutely shred everything with friends was a delight, no fun allowed nowadays =(
Its absolutely looking that way. D3 (and to a lesser extent Overwatch) has shown Blizz wants pretty strict control over the meta. They also have a really bad habit of overnerfing it seems.
This is what Blizzard has done for many many years now.
They have the data from the closed end-level beta, then came the pre-order beta’s, then the server slam, then the pre-order live launch, not to mention all their in-house testing. They use that to adjust the numbers one way or the other with each round.
Now with…
It’s actually even weirder than Sony trying to make a Wii U controller.
Because it’s fun to watch bad things happen to evil people.
Because the rise of a conservative fascist is relevant to all Americans. And you’re kidding yourself if you think he wouldn’t start policing video games.
Even in the PS3/360 era Sony managed to turn around that disastrous launch after a while and eventually overtook the 360 (barely albeit) on lifetime sales. Not to mention they were coming out with more interesting games in the latter half of the generation while Microsoft was pissing around with Kinect. It’s been by…
What kind of fucked up world do we live in where we have machines making art and Humans doing manual labor? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Oh, wait, I forgot that corporations will do anything to lower their bottom line and increase profits.
We all know that this tech is not made to make worker more productive but to cut costs at all means and replace them.
The problem would be that the tool can erase the jobs of the artists that it is there to help. “Make more productive” is something only a business owner should care about anyways. The actual worker should be trying to make their best work, not make more work to satisfy some faceless investor that is salivating at the…
We’re at a point where I only play retro games and new indie games, I think. I mean, there are still a few AAA publishers/developers who aren’t total dogshit yet, but... it’s bleak.
If you feel the need to use this “service” than I would implore you to seek therapy as it would be a better use of your time and money.
The astonishingly realistic voice experience blurs the lines between reality and virtual interaction, creating an indistinguishable connection with the esteemed celebrity.
1. We are living in hell
2. Anytime ANYONE even uses the phrase “democratize” needs to be shamed. immediately. It’s dumb, it’s stupid, and especially in this context, is so goddamn gross.
And yes, I am expecting the avalanche of “Her” think pieces because oh man, “fucking your AI bot” is going to be the thing.
This was the final nail in the coffin for me. I normally play Arcade when playing solo, but last night did some QP with friends, and it was simply horrible. Felt like all we were being put against was 5 stack smurfs. The game is just not fun anymore, anything that was fun has been stripped away for profit.
I fell off Overwatch in 2021. Always figured OW2 and the story mode would drag me back. Since then, Everything, literally everything about how OW2 has been handled just makes me less and less interested. This is the nail in the coffin. The PvE events in the original game were great and me and my friends played the…
Literally the reason for releasing Overwatch 2 was the single player. This wasn’t a pitch* it was the reason for Overwatch 2. So they lied. They lied because they even said last year that it was still coming out. Now they just all of a sudden know that it isn’t happening. Oufff you guys messed up.
1. The green screen looked like shit. Hard to infer if any of that scene had “real” physicality.
Agreed. I wanted to be excited, but that was not a nice looking or well edited sequence.
