I've never known any foster kids that stayed with the foster family after aging out of the system.
I've never known any foster kids that stayed with the foster family after aging out of the system.
People were forever killing themselves during the Tenth Doctor's era.
It's not over yet…..
I used to handle unauthorized practice of accountancy cases, and these sorts of things were litigated all the time. I imagine it's the same for law firms. Never handled any of those. I did handle some disciplinary proceedings like Jimmy went through though.
Believe it or not, there are all sorts of rules governing what can and can't be done. Rules of ethics, rules regarding unauthorized practice, advertising, etc. I don't know about New Mexico, but in Texas, for example, the rules say:
Bleh. You are right, of course. Brain fatigue!
I liked River, at first. I even liked the idea that she was The Doctor's future/past wife and that they were meeting in reverse….. I just really hated the way they went about it. I never believed her relationship with the Eleventh Doctor. And I really hated the whole Melanie thing. If they had left that nonsense out…
The same people who condemn the Tenth Doctor and Rose are perfectly fine with the Eleventh Doctor falling in love with and marrying the daughter of his companions and will probably be just fine with the revelation that Bill is a regenerated Susan, who is River's granddaughter, a/k/a Amy and Rory's…
Still, I applaud the effort to make the companions multi-dimensional and not just someone for the villains to imperil, capture or make scream. I don't care for the way they have been incorporated too much into the Doctor's personal history and family in recent years, but at least they have some character flaws and…
I have seen litigation over the names on firm letterhead, advertising, etc. Don't underestimate the power of having a given name attached to a law firm (or an accountants firm, etc.)
I don't know if that's an issue with licensing Eccleston's episodes or if that's because BBCA is only interested in the later series. Disney XD only showed Tenth Doctor episodes. They never showed the Christmas Invasion, and the episodes were poorly edited, so the character was probably confusing to new kids.
I thought Catherine Tate nailed it more than David Tennant did. DT sounded a bit like he was doing a cartoon version of the character in those episodes. I thought maybe it was because he does so much cartoon voice work….
I liked Chris Eccleston and Matt Smith right away. Took me to the end of the Christmas Invasion to accept David Tennant. I liked Capaldi before he was ever cast.
BBCA chops them up so badly, though. They cut out entire scenes sometimes!
I absolutely hated the whole Amy Rory River story… I never bought the River romance. I just thought the whole thing was absurd. I stopped watching the show for a good while. (And I worry about what Moffat is going to do with Bill at the end of this current series…. because I really like her right now!! )
I have no problem with the idea of a companion falling in love with the Doctor. It made sense to do it with David Tennant's incarnation, as he was just that charming and charismatic. I mean half the fandom fell in love with him.
I think that was kind of the point.
(I prefer to think of it as "semi-retired".)
(I do. Still, I doubt any of them would buy me a 35 year old Macallan to help me feel better… and I doubt Howard did, either… It's pure self-interest and interest of the Firm)
I want to see her get a fleshed out backstory. She's a great character and I love Laura Fraser. (Plus, we could use another prominent female in the story.)
