Aw, I loved Murray Gold's music in series 1-5… not so much lately.
Oh I am really hoping Chibnall tones down the CGI and gives us some lovely cinematography and practical effects. And I would be happy if he brought any of the Broadchurch directors he's used back with him.
I may just have a skewed view of what's positive these days, having lowered the bar somewhat…. but it seemed to me most people liked it, with a few saying the ending was weak.
It could be the Time Lords that locked him up and charged the Doctor with watching over him—let him live in exchange for the promise not to travel.
It's got to have something to do with The Master. They go back to help out the other Doctors in the Time War. The Master's been locked up since Rassilon sent him back…
Orrrrrr…. It has something to do with Susan…. who turns out to be Bill…..
Odd. I thought the comments were overwhelmingly positive.
Or possibly Susan's granddaughter.
I have predicted Moffat will somehow make Bill River's granddaughter, aka Susan….
Gotcha. Maybe the fact that Torchwood was brand new whereas Doctor Who has an established mythology and a character with core characteristics will make a difference. I never finished Torchwood, but the premise was rough, being earthbound and set in a more or less fixed time period.
Me, too.. but … seems unlikely for Moffat to do anything that simple. He's got to tangle all his companions into the Doctor's long-term history, making them his spouse, his in-laws, his creator basically… etc.
Hm. All this time I thought Chibnall was a writer. I don't see him listed anywhere as the showrunner. RTD is listed on IMDB as a writer on all 41 episodes and Chibnall is listed only on 8. The only thing I see on wikipedia is a book source that says:
I thought RTD was the showrunner on Torchwood.
I just wish they would start casting David Tennant in some good movies. He did some heavy lifting in Jessica Jones…. He's still doing indy movies that can't get general distribution. (And no, Ferdinand doesn't count)
I felt like every season improved over the previous.
Prediction: I think Romero will kill Norman and Dylan will kill Romero.. or Norman will kill Romero and Dylan will kill Norman… And then we will learn that Bradley had Norman's baby and put it up for adoption, and the final scene will be Norman's kid doing the creepy Norman smile….
Me, too, and I think he will kill Romero.
Moffat is always about the companion, though. And I would bet money that, through some very convoluted timey wimey paradoxes, he is going to make River Susan's grandmother, and make Bill a regenerated Susan—or even the original Susan who goes back to the 60s and that's why The Doctor has been there fifty years.
I was glad I didn't read any reviews, because I didn't see where it was going…
HM. I will have to take a look.
