It literally does not do this. Do you know what “out of pocket” means? More money leaves my pocket before *some* of it comes back. I also pay more in sales tax and registration fees if they are based on that.

I wish people would stop doing this. A federal tax rebate is not an equivalent to a price discount.

It requires you have to have such a tax liability, be able to claim it, wait until the following year, and does nothing to the state sales taxes, etc., on a car.

I think it probably requires tires and some other things, too. 

That screen looks rather “far away” for using Apple CarPlay, which might be frustrating to those who use it frequently.

Was it.. the average person who could afford to spend more money for something similar to an alternative that was already on the market?

Dallas->Houston is a 3.5-4 hour trip. You’re going to be stopping for gas/bathroom/food at some point during that stop in a non-gas car. 

What you really miss in your analysis is that unions raise the benefits of everyone in an entire industry.

I mean, I’m in agreement, but their land is rich in natural resources (oil). We don’t have quite the same luxury in the United States, although we certainly have been trying to step up exploiting what natural resources we do have.

This scenario is what taught me at a young age not to lend out tools to people.
