Yeah—their reliability isn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination today, but people don’t immediately think of them in the same light as Toyota or Honda.

A. Because they haven’t been around as long/been owned by as many people.
B. Because they weren’t in the 90s.
C. Because Kia was utter shit for a long time.

I don’t see this happening for a while, unless they keep trying to shove Alfa down America’s throats. Fiat/Alfa were/are stupid decisions. Sure the 500 was cute, but now that cuteness has gone and Fiat is stale. The 4c—nobody’s buying, the 124 won’t get anywhere near the sales of the Miata, and the

Mmmm, the sixteen.

If they can’t get people to buy the FR-S, and hear everyone constantly bitch about how little horsepower it has, why would they be able to get more sales from a tinier car with less horsepower? The answer to that is already Miata.

Yeah, the hybrid version might have room to run for sure. Although part of purchasing the Toyota is for the famed reliability. That said, if Hyundai is still doing the 100k mi warranty, it should be a success at that price.

Yep, that’s exactly it. And what they think they need, is a car with more than 124mi of range. The Leaf has 107mi range, so—50% is quite the stretch.

I wouldn’t expect an electric sales success with under a 200 mile range, and that’s only if the vehicle is then cost-competitive to ICEs.

It’s not what people need—it’s the appearance of what people think they need and want.

I think the exact opposite (at least the electric version, specifically). It’s a new Nissan Leaf. It doesn’t have the range to attract any regular buyers—you’re only going to get fringe buyers who know they have a very short commute and can afford it as a 2nd/3rd vehicle.

The Bolt would be a home run.. if it were $25k.

It was quiet and plain because that is what the car is meant to be. An elegant car. Not the hot wheels muscle car that is the Hellcat that brings out the inner 12 year old boy in every man.

Except there won’t be. There’s a reason the Murano Cross Cabrio What-the-fuck-ever is no longer being sold.

With the number of times the previous poster’s arguments have been floated and debunked, you would think you would run out of reason to need to explain these statistics again and again. And yet, people still try to pass of the same goddamn bullshit.

Yes, fixable by buying a different car to begin with.

I think you mean “thanks Hillary supporters for nominating an unelectable candidate.”

What’s not to like? Did you see the interior?

They’re warranted for 8 years and unlimited miles.

The data that exists already shows that the oldest ones aren’t falling off much in terms of total capacity.

If they would’ve stuck the 2.0t in there with that styling.. I have a feeling it may’ve sold a few more.

Why would you expect anything different than the battery performance from Tesla’s vehicles? They’re not “craping out within 2 years.”

Not sure if serious.

If someone said that to me, I’d be grateful that I was forewarned that they are a bitch.

Don’t think you’re going to fool too many people with a bright yellow roll cage.

I just don’t understand it. It’s not like they kept the creature comforts of the BMW. They put in a goddamn roll-cage and most of the interior is missing. Why not just keep it in a viper?
