WOW. Thanks! This must be new because I never opted-in in the first place. Pretty sure it was required when they first launched. Definitely disabling it!

Sorry, yeah, I think it was my bad wording, but as I said to someone else, I was not saying 2-step in general is stupid period — I was saying the Xbox 2-step was acting stupid for me and I wish it was optional. I definitely want 2-step on my bank accounts. For everything else, I wish there was a way to opt out.

Let me clarify once more: I am not saying 2-step is annoying. I am saying I am annoyed because Live keeps asking me to do it, and I wish it was OPTIONAL (I am NOT saying that 2-step should go away or that no one should use it). I do not have a CC linked to my Xbox account. Hack away. You ain't getting no $ from me.

I will double-check, but I am pretty sure when I last looked, I was not able to disable 2-step on my Live account because I sure as heck would've been one of the first people to do so! Thanks for the heads up though.

I know about the PSN hack. I was responding directly to the other guy's comment about the article in which ONE guy claimed he got hacked and someone spent $600 on his account. A data dump hack is a totally different situation.

I didn't say it's undesirable. I said people should be allowed to opt out or temporarily disable it. I don't have a CC linked to my xbox account so I should be able to disable it if I so choose. If someone hacks me, so what? I've got no $ to lose and I don't buy digital games anyways.

Because it's annoying to me. Every time I hear 2-step, I roll my eyes. People who are getting hacked are most likely re-using their emails and/or passwords on multiple sites. Not to be a jerk, but that's an obvious and big no no. Does it suck for him? Sure. I feel bad. Doesn't mean I can't get pissed when

Good theory, but I don't think that's possible. My Live email is not used on any other site and it's complete jibberish anyways so a dictionary hack is highly unlikely. I'm not worried about that at all.

Haha.

It only started happening last year after some Xbox update. My console was bought brand new from amazon, it has never been dropped, damaged, or modified in any way, and I'm the only gamertag on it so I'm not sure what's going on.

I'm on the 360. It just has a pop up that ask me to do 2-step verification. I haven't done it in a while, but I think it asks to confirm my email, then I'm supposed to check my email and enter into the console the code that they email me. Like I said, I haven't done it in a long time. I've learned that if I just

Yeah, idk. I've asked my friends on Live and most don't get the prompt on their consoles either. It's a console that I've had for ages (whenever the Slim first debuted) and has only had one gamertag on it the whole time. I've never taken it to anyone's house and no one else has ever logged in. As far as MS is

It can be helpful and PSN should implement it, but I think people should be able to disable (temporarily?) or opt out if they so choose. For a bank account, yes, I want it on. For my console, no (I don't have a credit card linked).

"...doesn't have two-step verification—a security method that lets you use an e-mail address or phone as an extra form of protection from account theft—which in 2015 is just unacceptable. Xbox Live has it. "

Your company never asked what you contributed? That's cool. I would've put something personal as well. Lol.

Ummm — seriously??! You took me literally? That was not intended to be a real suggestion. I was commenting that this whole thing is stupid. Encouraging diversity/widening perspectives should not involve excluding authors, even for a limited time period. In this case, true diversity should be reading their

This whole movement sounds racist and sexist. If they care so much, then start using pen names and don't put author photographs or bios on the book jacket/backcover.

I've never played an MMO, but I envisioned the Destiny raids being more than what they are. Right now, they seem like longer strikes with 6 players. I was expecting something more substantial, kind of like heists where you have to do some preparation missions before the actual main mission, and lasting more than

I was curious about that, too. Not sure how much reliability you can place on measuring happiness through CDC data...

It is fun! And the amount of (entertaining) dialogue they must've recorded is great. Makes the Destiny DLCs look embarrassingly pathetic.
