You cannot decide which laws you do and don’t follow. You work to change the ones that are wrong, but the moment you stop following one law you open the door for others to do the same.

What is necessary about ICE? How would your life be worse off if people that have never known any other home but the one they’re in weren’t being rounded up leaving church or picking up their kids from school and forcibly deported to a foreign country?

First of all, the DHS agency is called “Customs and Border Protection,” not “Customs and Border Patrol.” The US Border Patrol is a sub-component of CBP.

It’s perhaps the cruelty of how they go about it and how they almost seem to revel in it. They are an out of control law enforcement agency for which nobody seems to make an effort to reign in.

That “fact” is a naming error. There is no agency that would be mistaken due to said naming error. Therefore, it is helpful, but immaterial.

I know, and there are a lot of things in this country that used to be fully legal. Shouting “It’s the law!” doesn’t somehow magically make the ethical issues with their behavior magically disappear.

No, because the Bureau of Prisons exists to handle prisoners. If you can’t handle the volume of prisoners you are generating, then either we need to abolish the former or take a look at the agency in question and its cost efficiency (in this case, ICE)
