That’s sweet of you; I don’t mean to make my situation sound worse than it is. Once I got on the Prozac things got much, much better, and to an extent it’s self inflicted anyways; I’m the one who bid for a night shift. If it’s losing my mind or dealing with the daytime supervisor, I mean, pick your poison, you know?

Does that usage derive from the genital meaning or the cat meaning, though? I’m not actually convinced it’s the former.

I disagree. As someone who’s dealt with depression, it’s very, very easy for it to be this thing that you talk around rather than about. There’s power in being able to give it a name, and that fact is worth reinforcing.

TBH I thought maybe that was a British thing I didn’t understand.

This. Up until the invention of Prozac everyone in my family was an alcoholic, and I didn’t quite get why until the depression curse caught up with me. Sometimes any kind of altered mental state looks better than the one you’ve got.

>I’d copy/paste it here but he blocked me for telling him to eat my farts.

A true fan here

Word. 3 of them just had their house burn down on top of that. Like, life is hard at the bottom NWSL rungs.

The women’s team is significantly whiter than the men’s. Mostly you’ve got Crystal Dunn (black), Leroux (half black, half Canadian) and Christen Press (half black but virtually no one knows that, she doesn’t look it). Maybe Pugh, I don’t know what her deal is since she’s so new but she’s kind of dark. No Latinas with

She got traded to Orlando for a boatload of stuff this year. Portland made out like bandits. We’ve got Horan now, we’ve got Brynjarsdottir, we’ve got Nadim. I know we typically underperform with big stars (Portland’s unfortunately kind of got a Liverpool thing going on) but this year bodes well.

A very very good idea. I’m a huge Portland Thorns fan. Like, I’m flying out to the season opener against Orlando. This NWSL thing, it’s young, but it’s fantastic. And I’m a dude, for what it’s worth. Like, this isn’t totally a solidarity thing for me, it’s also hella enjoyable to watch. It’s not moneyball, the players

Oh definitely, but that’s not the same thing. I’m paying $600 for a room in a townhouse right now. Lowest I found last time I looked was $400 in the local Native ghetto for something similar, but I’ve never seen an honest to god separate 1 room apartment or studio for less than $600 anywhere in the city.

This is Jezebel. We are all about flippant.

Our wages are lower too. Now you see why everyone’s voting for people on both left and right promising revolution. It’s gotten pretty bad.

I wish pod hotels were more of a thing in North America. I love the idea. I don’t need to be up and walking around. I just wanna sleep. I can do that in that space. Fuck paying for a whole room.

Yeah, I can’t even find a studio in Minneapolis for $500, and we’re not short on space. I don’t know where you are where you think you’re gonna get that in an urban area. The South? Mexico?

Not sure I agree. I work with people who take two hours to get to work, and fuck, I’d rather sleep on a cot in the break room or something than deal with that. Life’s too short for that crap.

I feel like there’s a dystopian YA novel to be written here.

He had a lot of fans in Africa for getting serious about AIDS funding, among other things.

Yeah, sorry that wasn’t clear.

IDK, they worked out pretty well for Odin. Or a lot of PacNW Indian groups, for that matter.
