You know, that could be the next casino industry. Given the history, there’s a certain amusing irony to the idea of you guys taking us palefaces’ money by plying us with intoxicating substances.

It does that to me too, particularly the sleepy (I take sedative medications, so it’s pretty clear why it’s such a tranquilizer for me), but I really like the taste of beer and cider, and the atmosphere of the soccer bar, so that’s mostly a worthwhile side effect for me. Also, sometimes that’s useful; I work weird…
Re 1: Thank you for saying it. I was thinking it.
Eh, it’s still around, although the Medusa shutting down put a damper on it.
Agreed. Also in MSP here, and I definitely get a crusty vibe. Maybe we just recognize it as such because we’ve heard more of it?
This. No Paris no watch
Underrated post here! Well put.
I would not put saying dumb things and tacky social media use on a par with beating your girlfriend with a baseball bat.
Agreed. I think the first thing we’d see if the religious right really won out in America is the different sects turning on each other. The hardcore Catholic and Protestant groups hate each other as much as they hate liberals; they just see the necessity of cooperating at the moment against scary progress.
That’s just it, though. Aside from the genders being reversed, this whole movie is a takedown of the “friendzone” notion, the idea that you deserve somebody and just need to try harder. She’s That Guy in female guise. Sometimes accepting that someone isn’t feelin you really is the way to go, and what other movie even…
Shoplifting is a thing you know
Is this above or below the dosage where you fold space and see the future?
Short for “relationship”, but there’s a sense of people being fans of the couple as an item. You’ll get it in fiction fandoms referring to people who want whatever two to pair up in their fanfiction, for instance.
Saw it at the Jets stadium near NYC. Agreed. Fantastic show. Totally worth flying out to. 27 year old man, so I feel you.
Dude if I was rich I’d just eat four meals
Isn’t the importance of friendship in one’s adult life kind of a social cause? Cause she was talking about that when everybody else wanted to talk about girlfriends and boyfriends and stuff. As a 27 year old single, that definitely meant something to me.
Maybe they’re down wherever that plane is
That’s fair, and it’s something I’m well aware of; I spent my graduate school years in Canada, and even that seemingly similar country turned out to be a very different place. But that’s just it, I went somewhere where the costs and opportunities worked out, I didn’t try to force it right away in undergrad to the tune…
Me too. At first I thought they were onto something, but the more I look at individual features for comparison, it doesn’t add up.
Am I the only one who’s glad they didn’t do study abroad in undergrad? Schools charge way, way too much for something you can do cheaper on your own with more freedom later on. Traveling isn’t somehow less fulfilling if you do it a few years down the line; it might even be better once you know yourself and can take in…
