okay, I’m currently posting this out of Wyoming. Heart of MAGA-land where masks are viewed with open hatred. I can tell you from being amongst this, and assuming you’re posting from a liberal bastion of a city:

These people aren’t being left behind. They are leaving themselves behind. They are actively hobbling

But they don’t just believe something as “trivially stupid as the shape of the planet” (which I’d argue is pretty fucking far from trivial).

The problem is: using logics and facts against someone who believes in a flat earth or are a Republican Trumper misunderstands exactly why they believe what they do. It isn’t really just ignorance (though ignorance is very much a part of it), but it’s the need to feel special in an otherwise bland life. They want to

It probably won’t change their mind, but if they know their perspective will be met with derision, they’ll be less likely to talk about it and try to convince others to believe in their nonsense. This isn’t about fixing the people who already believe, it’s about making sure everyone else knows that their belief is

This. ^^^

If this were a time before the internet I would have agreed with the reasons you laid out.

Yeah, we aren’t going to pull people out of the cracks. They didn’t slip in, they jumped in with glee because it was easier and lined up better with their religious beliefs and facebook news feed.

If for anything, they should be soundly mocked for the sake of anyone who might entertain that bullshit. The “believers” rejected reality and are a lost cause. It’s literally never been easier to learn things, and they chose to bathe themselves in ignorance.

First and foremost, let’s make sure we’re all on the same page. Mocking people for believing in FET is cruel and unhelpful. Mocking FET itself is necessary and enjoyable.”

We absolutely should mock the hell out of people who believe in fake science. They should be ashamed of it because it’s a shameful commitment to ignorance. Screw this live and let live attitude about anti-intellectualism.

Okay, just so we’re clear on what happened here. This is how it played out, right?

Wouldn’t “nonexistent” make more sense than “Subpar” here?

Well at least it was an ‘absurd’ reason instead of a ‘tournament players bad-touching minors’ reason that competitive Smash is known for.

Lmfao. Just because Reagan's presidency didn't negatively effect you doesn't change the fact that he's probably the worst, most disgraceful president we've ever had

From the word go, Call of Duty was always the slightly creepier, more jingoistic take on ‘historic’ AAA shooters. Early on, it was likely just a way to distinguish itself from Medal of Honor’s more Spielbergian approach to identical subject matter. But as time’s gone on and Call of Duty delved into more contemporary

Any time you hear about something incredibly corrupt destroying American lives, turns out Reagan helped it get there.

nice futurama reference

I get it. I just ate two baked potatoes, covered in melted cheese.

To clarify, I don’t want to hear shit about how some black men, Asian Americans or Cuban Americans voted. The dog whistle was coming from inside your house. A majority of your people, white folks. Sort your shit out, before doing the analysis on why it was so close.

Dude, that’s not weird or radical - that is good plain comfort food.  *fist-bump*
