No, you are conflating what the author is saying with a “slippery slope” argument so that you can both dismiss their criticism and absolve the target of their criticism from having to take any action. Whether you are doing this purposefully or just because you fundamentally don’t understand what the author is actually

“I mean, our entire show is about us meeting people who are objectively better than us and then either killing them or screwing them over in some fashion, so that’s not really the insult you think it is.”

So putting it all on the shoulders of this one company, where this “wealthy” cast is working multiple jobs, is a bit disingenuous.

Well first off I would say people need to stop knee-jerking all criticism as instant vilification. Second we need to understand that not all criticism is going to necessarily include solutions and definitely not convenient “plan-of-action” solutions. You can be critical of something without having to know the best way

The “solution” is the same as it ever was: Listen to the criticism of marginalized people and try to do better next time.

I would be perfectly content if every billionaire in the country was forced to give up enough of their money to the point where they were only multi-millionaires.

No amount of consumption under capitalism is ethical. The person who can afford a $20k car can afford a $2500 car and give the rest to charity as well.

If you are going to just keep dismissing my replies I’m not going to bother talking to you anymore. We’re done here.

So California, in other words.

I don’t know if there is a Godwin’s Law equivalent for out of control  capitalism, but comparing Jeff Bezos using his billions to launch himself into space to some random Twitch streamer buying a Porsche has definitely got to be in violation of it.

Jeff Bezos uses his billions to launch himself into space.

It is possible to support the kind of causes he champions and still buy a 3 million dollar home and 2 hundred thousand dollar car. The two are not mutually exclusive.

“Blimey! This redistribution of wealth is trickier than I thought...”

Part of the problem is that, ultimately, people like performative rebellion. They like the idea that some charismatic figure really is going to donate 90% of their income and arm the revolution and lead the charge and change the system. All so that they don’t have to. They can live comfortably, secure that someone

I mean, I wouldn’t have bought that car, but if I had the money? Yeah, I’d treat myself to a nice car.

From what I understand with Retro, after they contracted them to make Metroid Prime, the studio suffered from massive financial problems due to mismanagement, so Nintendo bought them to keep the studio from going under and save the Metroid project.

And coming in at number 7 on our Ranking of Kings: Here’s Nat King Cole!

And then you hear him speak a single line of dialogue and it’s like, “Yep, boner’s gone!”

If you can take advantage of a situation in some way, it’s your duty as an American to do it! Why should the race always be to the quick? Or the Jumble to the quick-witted? Should they be allowed to win merely because of the gifts God gave them? I say, cheating is the gift man give himself!”
